So, who is Martin O'Malley? He's another victim of Repub. rumor mill lies
Edited on Wed Feb-09-05 11:04 AM by hector459
Baltimore Mayor Martin O'Malley yesterday accused agents of Maryland Gov. Robert L. Ehrlich Jr.'s administration of spreading false rumors that he had an extramarital affair, and Ehrlich responded hours later by dismissing a longtime employee.

The mayor, a Democrat considering a bid for governor in 2006, said he believes that the widespread and persistent rumors were part of a "concerted and orchestrated and sustained" effort and called on the Republican governor to apologize to his wife and children.

The aid even admitted that he spread those lies but the governor hasn't yet apologized to O'Malley's family.

BTW, keep an eye on O'Malley. He will probably run for governor of MD next and he is one of those rising stars in the Dem party. You know he has potential if the Republican machine has already started a smear campaign against him.

1. I live in Baltimore, and Mayor Martin is my favorite Democrat!
He's smart, funny, has his own Irish rock band, and he once invited a freepr-like heckler out into the alley for an ass whoopin'!

the attacks are starting now because he's running for governor... and then it's on to the White House.

2. Keep this kicked because DUers need to know about what is going on
in every corner of our nation. These slimeballs are everywhere and will do anything. Many are gay bashers by day and gay lovers by night and they should make even the gay community despise them.
They spread lies smear-rumors and never have to give an accounting for their lies because the MSM never calls them on it as in the case of the Swiftboaters against Kerry. If we don't expose what is going on with the control and propaganda of the MSM, who will. Please let your friends and family in Baltimore know about this dirty trick. I am so happy that O'Malley jumped right on this. He needs to be careful and stay clean because he is in for a bumpy ride.

5. We should keep this in the air a s "O'Mallygate" and give it no rest until
Ehrlich apologizes in public AND we should hold the Republican machine in the governor's administration accountable and responsible. You have to read the entire article to get the picture.

7. From the local teevee station's web site - no registration needed
http://wjz.com/localstories/local_story_040070012.html

The only thing they failed to mention was the specific web site where these rumors first surface - Free Republic. Fortunately, Baltimore's local paper, the Sun, is pretty reliably Dem leaning. They're also embroiled in their own battle with that fucking Nazi, Ehrlich.

Note about the story. His wife, a judge, is the daughter of our AG - another long time power Dem.

Here's the man as he appears to most of us who support him. His family is included.

8. O'Malley has got to stay CLEAN and be SMART. They are out after
him for comparing the President's budget to a 9/11 attack on major cities. He has backed off this statement somewhat BUT while I agree with him on the damage the Budget will do to cities, he must be smart enough to not say things that he is not willing to back up. NO APOLOGIES FOR TELLING THE TRUTH! Americans admire an idiot like Bush for "sticking to his guns" even when he is proved to be liar and wrong. There is no way ANY Dem should back down from telling the truth no matter how inflammatory it is!
