I wish Ms. Rice would quit rattling the sabre.
Have these people never heard of the olive branch? The dove of peace? Why do they want to kick everybodys ass?

http://www.cnn.com/2005/WORLD/europe/02/09/rice.iran.ap/index.html

<snip> BRUSSELS, Belgium (AP) -- Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said Wednesday that Iran cannot delay indefinitely accountability for a suspected nuclear weapons program, but said the United States has set "no deadline, no timeline" for Tehran to act. <snip>

Where have I heard 'suspected nuclear weapons program' before? Here we go again.

1. After reading through the documentation. . .
I can't find any olive branch references amongst PNAC's materials. They literally have goals in direct opposition to peace.

2. condi follows the SAME template that led us into bush* Iraq war

those neo-cons figure it worked before, and at the current time, NOBODY is objecting at all to the rhetoric, in fact, condi's getting some GREAT press coverage in America, and according to Gallup Polls, bush* WARs approval is going UP.....

so it works, as long as decent Americans continue to sit on their couches...we'll be into a long BLOODY Iran war real soon....

8. Major argument occurred in my household over this just last
night. My spouse is absolutely certain that is no way that we'll do anything in Iran. I don't know who will stop this wrecking crew and I'm afraid that we'll be in Iran just as we were drug into Iraq and the Smirking Emperor* will state again that he doesn't listen to focus groups.

9. Something in Iraq will blow up and...
Monkey boy and friends will tie it in to Iran. Thus a need to bring back the draft and invade Iran.

11. Belated welcome!! I've mentioned many scenarios which I think
could or would be used (including the one you mentioned) and he's just convinced the people won't stomach another military action and that the GOP knows that the people will start to become a little more vocal with their displeasure. I mentioned of course that these are the same people who think that the Patriot Act is just great, war with Iraq was just and is still a good idea, and rolled over for all sorts of things that I wouldn't have thought would've happened.

I have a son who turns 15 tomorrow. He's been anxious about his future, as well as his younger brothers', off and on for a while now. To say the least I'm carefully reading everything that I can find here and elsewhere to try to figure out just what this cabal has in store.

13. Thank you glad to be here.
I hope all is well with your sons in the years to come. I'm concerned because the Chickenhawks just aren't satisfied. Does your son have to register for the draft? I read somewhere, maybe in here, that Louisiana is making 15 year olds register for the draft in order to get a learner's permit to drive. Since Monkey Boy has an increase in funds for tracking military deserters I bet funds on how and when to bring back the draft have increased for the new budget as well.

3. So true...
Edited on Wed Feb-09-05 11:37 AM by TwoSparkles
I have really grown weary of my country behaving as the Scott Farkas (remember that bully from "A Christmas Story?) of the world community.

Who in the heck are we to saunter around the planet and mandate what everyone should be doing?

If some leader from Spain, Iran or Ireland stepped on our soil, and began issuing demands--he/she would look ridiculous. We are just as ridiculous. The only difference is that we are oblivious to how absurd we look.

I'm just so fargin sick of it.

The only way this out-of-control-administration will shut up--is if the world puts us in our place. Several countries need to collectively say, "America. Shut the f*ck up."

I never thought I'd say that about my country. However, it's true. Someone needs to stand up to this bullying administration and tell it to shut its yapper.

The world sees our failings. Iraq is a frickin joke, failing in full color for the entire planet to see. Our dollar is turning to dust and our deficits are turning us into a bankrupt joke. It's as if we've become the Charles Manson of the universe--and we're touring around giving lectures on the sanctity of life. It's appalling.

Damn! I hate when they do these things in our name!!!!!

10. Amen - it's hard to have any patriotism
and not spiral into pure cynicism and hate when you're country f*** us this hard.

We all have to put faith in the good of the common man and give up all trust in governments. Only then we will have a press that looks out for us and a government who is always watched and doesn't watch us.

I honestly believe she hasn't a clue to the gravity of her words. I thing she just blathers on with out a single concern in her head.

12. And yet the MSM insists on saying she's "mending fences" over there!
America is CRYING OUT for a voice that can be heard above our dear Air America whisper. Can anyone get some international (Australian, Canadian i.e. unassailable) funding for some "TV Free America".
