READ AND SAVE Jeff Gannon's Deleted TALON NEWS Articles Here:
I don't know if anybody has already done this, but all of the Gannon articles -- which have been deleted by Talon News -- are easily accessed in Yahoo.com's cache.

You can read them (and save them) by going here and clicking on the "Cached" hypertext links:

http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=talonnews.com%2F+gannon&sm=Yahoo%21+Search&toggle=1&ei=UTF-8&fr=FP-tab-web-t&vst=0&vs=www.talonnews.com

Talon News deleted these for a reason. Maybe you can figure out what that reason is.

If somebody already posted this, sorry.

Documents Reveal Daschle Collaborated with Reporter
By Jeff Gannon
Talon News
April 15, 2004

(Talon News) -- A document unearthed from the papers of former Democratic South Dakota Senator James Abourezk reveals that his aide, the future Senate Minority Leader Tom Daschle collaborated with a political reporter to gain positive coverage.

Kranz, now the political reporter for South Dakota's largest newspaper, the Sioux Falls Argus Leader, was the subject of a 2003 Talon News investigative series that exposed his 35-year relationship with Daschle amidst allegations of bias.

It's interesting to note that Talon News has not yet managed to delete those images from their server.

Once they do, you won't be able to see them anywhere -- not even in the cache. (Somebody might want to save 'em. You can sell them to the liberal media at a later date.)

10. Here's an interesting one about the PLame leak...
Daschle Calls For Independent Counsel to Investigate Alleged Leak
By Jeff Gannon
Talon News
October 1, 2003

WASHINGTON (Talon News) -- Senate Minority Leader Tom Daschle (D-SD) appeared on CNN's "Paula Zahn Now" program Tuesday night to repeat his call for an independent counsel to investigate whether the White House revealed the name of a CIA employee to media. Throughout the day, the South Dakota Democrat teamed up with Sen. Charles Schumer (D-NY) to express distrust of their former colleague, Attorney General John Ashcroft, to fully look into the matter.

Daschle claimed a special counsel is necessary because the White House did not launch an investigation in July when Robert Novak's article initially identified Valeria Plame as a CIA agent.

snip

President Bush said on Tuesday, "I don't know of anybody in my administration who leaked classified information. If somebody did leak classified information, I'd like to know it, and we'll take the appropriate action. And this investigation is a good thing."

"Washington is a town where there's all kinds of allegations," Bush added. "If people have got solid information, please come forward with it."

"We can clarify this thing very quickly if people who have got solid evidence would come forward and speak out. And I would hope they would," Bush said.

Bush's distaste for leaks is well known.

I think this is interesting that Gannon was reporting on the "leak" when isn't he considered to be one of the "reporters" that Novak was referencing asto receiving the leak? Or am I mistaken? :shrug: Hmm...

23. did you see the talon "news" statement on Jeff Gannon?
Statement concerning former Washington, DC correspondent Jeff Gan

Talon News Washington, DC reporter and White House Correspondent Jeff Gannon submitted his resignation from our organization effective February 8, 2005.

I understand and support Jeff's decision, and have accepted the resignation.

We are currently evaluating candidates to fill this critical assignment, and anticipate minimal interruption of Talon's coverage of our nation's capitol and the White House in the meantime.

30. Also, his website
Archive.org has a few pages from 2003 and 2004

http://tinyurl.com/5hrn5

From Feb 4, 2004

http://web.archive.org/web/20040204050516/http://jeffgannon.com/

In May 2003, at the height of the New York Times scandal that exposed star reporter Jayson Blair as a fraud and led to the ouster of editor Howell Raines, I began to investigate charges that Senate Minority Leader Tom Daschle (D-SD) has a close, long-term relationship with the political reporter of his state's largest newspaper, Gannet's Sioux Falls Argus Leader. Critics claim that relationship, hidden for decades, has benefited the Senator and the Democratic Party in South Dakota.

In a series of articles for Talon News, I was proved that relationship and the shameless and purposeful bias of the Argus Leader.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Shameful and purposeful bias" that he "was proved" . .
And
http://web.archive.org/web/20031203172719/jeffgannon.com/smeared.htm
I GOT SMEARED!
<snip>
But Jaffe suggested that the White House is reacting to the negative reporting by attacking members of the press corps. He wrote:
“There are signs the White House may be going on the offensive, striking back at reporters it considers too aggressive. Both Moran and NBC’s David Gregory were singled out in a dispatch published in Talon News, a news service sponsored by GOPUSA, a Republican Party news service.”
He’s talking about me! Jaffe is claiming that I am a Republican Party operative instructed by the White House to write a hit piece on these two reporters. Both of those allegations are totally and completely false.
My article, “White House Cites Partisanship in Furor Over Alleged Leak” accurately reported the administration’s contention that some have tried to take political advantage of the investigation. It should be noted at this point that Harry Jaffe began his Washington career in the 1970s as press secretary to U. S. Senator Patrick Leahy, Democrat of Vermont.
After several emails and telephone calls, the article was changed to “conservatives may be going on the offensive” and Talon News was a “Web-based conservative information company.” But the implication that the “vast right-wing conspiracy” was attacking reporters remained.
What was most surprising about the article is that Jaffe didn’t do his homework on Talon News. He either made incorrect assumptions without checking facts or some “unnamed source” misled him. Either way, he was very wrong. To he credit, he did make the corrections.
However, the most bothersome aspect of the article was that Jaffe contacted Ken Bazinet of the New York Daily News, Bob Deans of Cox Newspapers and Terry Moran of ABC News for quotes to use in his story. These are all people I work with every day in the White House briefing room. He didn’t bother to contact me before putting on the smear.
Misfeasance or malfeasance, take your pick. It’s poor journalism and Jaffe’s accusations never would have been made about a liberal member of the press. My questions at the daily White House press briefing stand out because no one else asks them.
The second stab came last week from an admittedly liberal reporter at the White House who gave me what she thought was friendly advice. She said, “Don’t suck up to these people , you’ll lose your credibility.” After an edgy discussion during which I pointed out that I was pursuing stories and angles that no one else was, she realized I was not interested in her counsel and that I categorically rejected her assessment of my credibility.
To say that I lack credibility because I ask questions that don’t assume the President is an illegitimate, corrupt, lying, warmongering extremist is laughable. It seems that I am virtually alone in trying to balance out the agenda-driven questions so that the full story can be told. Apparently the President sees it that way as well, since he recently spoke out about the filtering that news gets about events in Iraq.
While I get twisted up for a bit over these kinds of things, I have come to know that it is part of the territory. As my editor wisely observes, if my reporting is being noticed, I’m doing my job. That’s my agenda.
