News: DOCTOR Rice puts IRAN & Europe on NOTICE!

http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=514&e=1&u=/ap/20050209/ap_on_re_eu/rice

BRUSSELS, Belgium - Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice has put Iran and Europe on notice Wednesday that their negotiations over Tehran's nuclear program cannot go on forever.

Nearing the end of a fence-mending tour of European allies, Rice said the United States had set no deadline on the Iran talks, but she also said the Bush administration had not changed its view that the United Nations should step in to get tougher on Iran.

In Washington, President Bush said the Iranians needed to know that the free world was working together to send a clear message: Don't develop a nuclear weapon.

"And the reason we're sending that message is because Iran with a nuclear weapon would be a very destabilizing force in the world," Bush said.

2. Hmmmmm...destabilizing force you say?
"And the reason we're sending that message is because Iran with a nuclear weapon would be a very destabilizing force in the world," Bush said.

Yep! Just like having a sociopathic shithead in the Oval office can be a destabilizing force in the world, you betcha!

12. Yep...they are really going to push this too far...
and after they get their well-deserved response, they will blame anyone and everyone but themselves. No humility in this administration whatsoever. Unfortunately, this will have to play all the way through to the conclusion in order for things to really change for the better.

18. Lack of humility is indeed the striking characteristic
Her first damn trip overseas, giggling and schmoozing every stop, and on the last day she haughtily drops this bomb.

5. Any day now we should be attacking!

I feel like it's become the theater of the absurd, as she goes around the world spouting off about what other nations should and should not do!

Do they not realize how diminished the US gov't is in the eyes of the world now? We are despised and seen as fools because of this cabal and the policies they put forth(if you can call them that).

They think they can fool the rest of the world like they have most of the sheeples here...How hilarious!!

8. Personally I think WE are becoming the destabilizing force int the world
this is the quote from the source I read. I think yours is a little unclear.

"Nearing the end of a European tour that included visits to both old and new members of the expanding NATO, Rice said the United States remains in "close consultations" with its European allies on the issue."

13. As far as the United Nations goes...
as I recall, the newest Administration line is: this is going to have to go to the security council. Fine.

China's got a veto in the council.
China and Iran have inked a long-term oil deal.
You do the math.

The US has used our veto so many times over the years, it's only to expected that someone else will too. Turnabout is fair play.

15. Well...yeah..it would be destabilizing...
it would mean that Iran would no longer be under his thumb, so to speak...it would be a very uncomfortable shift for bush to deal with..since his words and threats would not be heard in the same way..as they are..or as he thinks they are now. But, Iran is within their rights to develop nuclear energy...what bush and rice are..again...rattleing the swords about...is that Iran might be able..as some future date..to use this technology..to develop military nuclear capabilities...doesnt this sound familiar??? So...no he does not want this destabilizing to occur...so, guess he thinks that he will have to work up that same ole WMD rationale...and preempt that possibility. I don't think he will do it...i don't think he would get the OK again from congress or the American people...if he does do this as an attack on Iran, the world will turn on him quickly..and, unfortunately...turn on the whole USA.

16. Does THIS phrase sound familiar?
"The Bush administration has long viewed the European process as futile and thinks Iran is stalling."

It is more like, "Bush is just biting at the bit to attack another country" :nuke:

Talk shows atwitter that Rice has been ratcheting up the rhetoric over the last few days and that war seems to be the only option for the Administration.
