Is that it seems there is a cabal of far rightwing gay guys who are high up in the WH power structure (Mehlman, McLellan, etc.) who employ some of their own to pose as reporters and/or perform other dirty tricks to help this administration. Who do they report to? Rove? Bush? And why in hell do they work for an administration that, publicly, at least, actively works to undermine their legitimacy as American citizens?

Maybe the whole anti gay thing is truly a huge ruse to capture the religious rightwing vote. Maybe neither Bush nor Rove believe ideologically in forbidding gay marriage. If so, that in itself is the news story of the year.

Many seem to think he was blackmailing someone high up and that's how he got his "credentials". That may be true, however, I think it's unlikely. I don't think he blackmailed a bush (or Rove etc.), if that were the case, I think he'd be dead, and quick.

No, I think it's more sordid than that.

I think the Bushes (and others in their "circle") are sexual deviants and have a need to fulfill and cover up their urges. Gannon may be part of the support mechanism for that and was rewarded for his service and/or used because that role would make him a good candidate for his more public role as a faux reporter.

Those Bushes are almost certainly sexual deviants of some sort (not that homosexuality is sexually deviant, that's not what I mean), it goes with the territory that comes w/ their mental illnesses and their severe sexual repression is overcompensation for some bizzarre sexual proclivities...I would guess some sort of sadomasochistic tendencies and/or torture and pedophilia...Bush's torture of small animals when he was younger is suggestive that that sort of behavior holds some sort of sexual gratification for him...I bet a lot of work goes into them procuring the objects of and the fulfillment of their deviant sexual urges and also in covering it up and keeping it secret...Gannon may have been part of the network and as such would have also been a prime recruit for the more public role he has filled as press room lacky and lickspittle...

Said Jeff was not kicked out of the WH - he resigned from Talon News, the WH did nothing.

Said he saw Jeff with something that looked an awful lot like a permanent pass pass to the WH - that McClellan obviously knew that Jeff was not his real name, and McClellan was playing along and there was some degree of complicity.

Said the real problem is that Jeff was not representing a real media company, not a real journalist, and wasting everybody's time hanging out in the press room.

Keith asked, "Was he a plant or just an illegible presence?"

Dana "Probably somewhere in between. You call him a plant, I call him a foil. You call on this guy when you want to get the heat off of you from another subject. It follows a pattern in this administration we've seen, not only in the Armstrong case, but there have actually been actors used posing as journalists in advertisements. This seems an awful lot like that.
