"...jobs Americans won't do" is bushcode for SLAVERY
most folks didn't notice, but slavery still exists in America the emancipated. republicans and others are up in arms that bush hasn't cracked down on ILLEGAL immigration from Mexico, and bush always mentions those strange words about Mexican laborers who cross the border to pick our strawberries and potatoes, 'jobs Americans won't do'.

and of course, people in Taiwan and Thailand make our sneakers and ipods and t.v.'s for slave wages too. but the Mexicans are actually allowed in, work really hard for almost nothing, and forced to live in shacks and then when all the stuff is picked and shipped, they are chased back to Mexico with no benefits or gain, other than mere existence.

bush always brags about 'pertekteeng air borders' but they are loose as hell to trucks and people coming in from Mexico.

SLAVERY IS KEEPING OUR ECONOMY SOLVENT for the time, like the south in the 19th century. and it's true, most Americans won't pick beans and carrots and broccoli for less than minimum wage, but give bush enough time, and that too could change.

slavery still exists in 21st century America, but many will argue otherwise.

1. There is no such thing as a job an American won't do!
There are just jobs that American employers aren't willing to pay enough to have done.

If my strawberrys cost more, well that's the way it is.

And Democrats, as much as Repubs, are responsible for brainwashing the masses into thinking otherwise.

Americans will do the work if the employers pay market rates. It's called capitalism.

5. What about poor Ms Mornin and her three jobs
MS. MORNIN: That's good, because I work three jobs and I feel like I contribute.

THE PRESIDENT: You work three jobs?

MS. MORNIN: Three jobs, yes.

THE PRESIDENT: Uniquely American, isn't it? I mean, that is fantastic that you're doing that. (Applause.) Get any sleep? (Laughter.)

MS. MORNIN: Not much. Not much.

Stupid wanker...

6. add to that the squeeze on the wages of the middle class...
everywhere you look -- they are trying to drive down the cost of labour.
the mainstay of any economy.

they talk about high wage tech jobs -- but here in norcali -- there are a lot of unemployed tech workers and tech workers looking to change jobs.
it's causing a lot of stress in an area already very expensive to live in.

and look at the debt we are all living with{i.e. america in general}
if that's not owing your soul to the company store -- i don't know what is.

7. WRONG! "Slavery" Is Not Keeping Our Economy Solvent
Edited on Thu Feb-10-05 06:52 AM by BuyingThyme
The lower-paying American jobs are the jobs which, by nature, cannot be exported. Think about it (harvesting, construction, maintenance, childcare, etc.).

The employers cannot take this work elsewhere.

If the employers are forced to pay market rates to Americans, the economy will GROW.

It's called capitalism.

8. The other day they expanded the definition of "jobs that
Americans won't do" to include construction and unless they've cut wages recently, that's just not true. Construction jobs are typically well paying and have a lot of American employees.
