Want to see something BIZARRE? (Jeff Gannon)
After reading a 'Riding this Donkey' DU post -- which draws attention to a Gannon-heavy internet "news" site -- I did a Network Solutions whois search on the domain in question (hawaiireporter.com) .

I then did a Yahoo search on the site's administrative contact phone number (808 524 4500) which I obtained from Network Solutions. Yahoo returned twelve results.

Here's the bizarre part: Of the 12 Yahoo listings, AT LEAST FOUR indicated that the phone number was tied not to a Hawaii "news" source, but to some kind of gay swinger's club. (No joke.)

Can somebody interpret this information for me? Does this information play into the ongoing Gannon insanity?

Here's the 'Riding this Donkey' item:

4. They also registered bushcheated.com (to protect BushCo).
GOP registered BushCheated.com in 2003

The Republican National Committee apparently paid a Virginia networking firm to buy BushCheated.com on their behalf, RAW STORY has learned.

A representative for Network Solutions, LLC confirmed that they registered sites for the Republican National Committee. When asked if they registered BushCheated.com on behalf of the party, she said, gYeah, then we probably did.h

A spokeswoman for the Republican National Committee declined to comment and said they would return the call.

The domain, which has no content, was likely registered to prevent others from setting up a website at the address.

5. Network Solutions is just the domain registration service...
They used to be the only registration service.

(They don't play into this; they're like the internet's DMV.)

26. You may be thinking of Roger Stone
Edited on Thu Feb-10-05 12:26 PM by starroute
I've been thinking about Stone a lot lately, because he ties into the Gannon stuff in several ways.

Stone was one of the dirty tricksters who came out of the College Republican National Committee back in the Nixon days. Morton Blackwell (founder of the Leadership Institute) was national chairman on and off from 1965 to 1970. Karl Rove, Lee Atwater, Roger Stone, and Terry Dolan were all among the aspiring young tricksters. Stone and Dolan (who died of AIDS in 1986) were particularly close -- as I recall, they'd been friends since high school.

Mike Krempasky, who set up the rathergate.com website after the CBS memo flap broke had been an instructor for the Leadership Institute and also had connections to Stone. (He was using Stone's email system for something and had also been present at the 2000 Republican riot which stopped the Florida recount and which Stone engineered.) There were even rumors that Stone was responsible for planting the memos.

"Gannon" got his minimal journalism training from the Leadership Institute, and Talon News and GOPUSA were pushing Krempasky's rathergate.com very hard last fall.

There was a lot of discussion of Stone's swinger lifestyle here at the time -- there'd even been a tabloid expose on him and his wife a few years ago. It wasn't swapping, though -- it was advertising for threesomes. Very sleazy stuff.

(On edit: It was Atwater who was Poppy's campaign manager. I never heard any wife-swapping stories about him, though.)

20. There's nothing solid here...
But the coincidences need to be considered:

Jeff Gannon and Talon News have, in some bizarre way, been linked to some kind of underground sex network.

And now, the phone number of one of Gannon's "news" outlets (hawaiireporter.com) may similarly be linked to sex clubs.

Perhaps the phone number was dropped by the sex club and, by happenstance, was picked up by hawaiireporter.com . But the thing that makes it so interesting is in that the Yahoo results didn't link the phone number to an auto shop, or a Mexican restaurant, or a bakery -- but only to a "news" outlet and a sex club.

Coincidence?

Or did the sex club eventually add the "news" service as a front?

25. Forget about the sex club stuff and find the connections
to Bush, Cheney, and GOP. They are there, I'm betting. Probably networked...much like AQ does, but working the same way. The cell comes up with the idea, gets the nod and resources from the top, then puts it into action.

Forget the sex stuff. Get the goods.

32. Nothing sets them off like sex does
You can lie, cheat, steal, lie to congress, and torture people.

They don't care.

In fact, they give you a medal.

But if you look at all the recent resignations (aside from cabinet members after the election) they all have to do with sex. Usually gay sex.

All the Rethugnicans care about is what goes on below the waist, because they have nothing between their ears.

Yes, we need to hammer home the "real" issues, and hammer them hard.

But it's the sex that will sell the story, and most importantly it will sell newspapers.

If we can document him offering his services within the White House, like what happened when Reagan was President, it will resonate with the Rethugnicans.

We should also be sure to make it clear that we have nothing against his being a Gay American. Our problem is how a gay male prostitute using a fake name got such close access to the pResident. And what kinds of nasty things he did and who paid him.

33. Yes, people keep harping on the gay angle...
But could you imagine what would happen if they were to discover a straight, woman prostitute in the WH press corps?

From where I sit, that would get EVEN MORE attention than Gannon is getting.
