DU: Information and DISINFORMATION Battleground
We got a live one here w/ this Gannon story. It's a peek into the dark, fetid underbelly that is part of the churning, bilious engine behind the Bushco. madness.

Just beware. DU IS part of the 21st Century battleground of information warfare. There WILL be and already are all sorts of people roundabouts trying to stir up all sorts of bullshit. This is going to intensify, because I think this Gannon thing hits deep and dark so they will do their best to muddy the waters. Just an FYI.

1. I agree.
People need to be watchful. The right wing nuts will be coming to DU and other sites in droves to try to discredit the opposition.

2. A warning... WARNING.
Some lizards when they're pursued drop their tails...

The gay thing is the tail... I'm real hungry and I want lizard.

GO FOR THE LIZARD!

I wish you all good luck and good hunting.

;)

3. My fears also. Too many going into feeding frenzy mode, making claims
without much documentation.

Can you say Rather-Gate, boys and girls? I thought you could.
</Mr Rogers voice>

Seriously, when the junta knows they are caught red handed, their defense is to trip us up into making claims they can show to be invalid, thereby making our whole case look false.

We need to move calmly and precisely or we step on a Rovian land mine and blow our cases into bits.

People, just cuz you are honest and trustworthy, ya gotta get over thinking everybody else is like you! There are some people who post things which just aren't true. We know lies get posted on other boards. How can we not expect some get posted/planted here to throw our sniffers off the real track?

Sorry to say, but if we are going to catch social/political criminals, we have to consider how their thought processes twist and turn and give up using our Polyanna lenses.

10. Yes, "calmly and precisely..."
This species can, when trying to escape a predator, eject its internal digestive organs (which resemble wet spaghetti noodles) in order to distract and confuse the attacker. Once safe, the animal begins the process of regrowing the organs.

And no, I'm not talking about the California Sea Cucumber, Parastichopus californicus.

(I think this is a better analogy than the lizard shedding it's tail!)

13. yee-friggin-haw. I am more interested in stopping the spread of MadCowboy
Disease than in helping it spread faster.

It is a time for calm, thoughtful evaluation and investigating, not shootin' from the hip. We cannot afford anther RatherGate episode.

16. Yup. Must focus on being "proactive", avoid being "reactive"!!!
Right-wing emotional blackmail tactic is run amok and works well on those who are being "reactive" rather than focused upon being "proactive".

We need to be aware and mindful.

Thanks for posting!!! :bounce:
