Wal-Mart and Unions
Does anyone believe the Wal-Mart explaination that they closed the store in Canada in that the demands of the union would have made the store unprofitable? I think Wal-Mart closed the store because they did not want any of their stores to be unionized.

2. The Goverment should force them to because...
then the rest of the retail industry ( one of our few left) will have to respond and unionize.

4. Yep, that is always what they threaten the employees with...
at the mere mention of union. I wish all employees at all Walmarts would work to get a union in, it would be a lose/lose for Walmart, imo. They would either have to shut them all down, which they won't do, hurts the bottom line, or they would have to accede to unionization which would increase their costs due to having to treat their employees fairly. Either way, communities, imo, would benefit either by closing them down or having their tax paying employees earning a decent wage.
