Request for help on SS issue. I was trying to explain to some
Edited on Thu Feb-10-05 06:40 PM by lectrobyte
people that the proposed new SS plan is not like a 401K, your family won't inherit the money when you die etc., is there a good reliable link (I mean something that won't make a moderate Repub simply dismiss it outright -- http://www.bushsucks.com/SSPlanIsCrap.htm would be the opposite of what I'm looking for) that lays out the details of the plan in a reasonably clear manner?

Thanks in advance!

2. Exactly, it makes one wonder what is really going on.

The S.S. uproar seems like an obfuscation.

4. read Molly Ivins recent column
I couldn't find a link to her most recent column, but she describes how the "clawback" would work basically negating the "ownership" bullshit.

5. One piece of advice: keep it simple and ignore distractions.

Oh, yes,...and repeat the following over and over and over again even if it offends your thinking mind:

Bush's plan is to destroy Social Security AND funnel our money to Wall Street at the same time.

Bush's plan is to destroy Social Security AND funnel our money to Wall Street at the same time.

Bush's plan is to destroy Social Security AND funnel our money to Wall Street at the same time.

When they assert "talking points" they've heard, tell them that Bush serves Wall Street, not common people and

WE HAVE TO BEAT "THEM" AT THEIR OWN GAME!!!

6. Thanks for the links. And the talking points. After Iraq, I should
have known there was no plan, just a fake crisis to distract us while they robbed and plundered.
