wtf just happened in the senate?
they passed the bill limiting lawsuits and according to msn news this will allow corporations to no longer worry about frivolous lawsuits, they sited the tabacco industry as being the one most prone to suits but left out the fukking asbestos lawsuits that someone that will remain anonymous has a major interest in.

4. Part of the reason they are doing this is because MANY government employee
have had MAJOR asbestos exposure and bushitler is on track to delete their jobs from the government payroll within the next three years. Mark my words, when someone finally realizes how many government employees this issue effects the asbestos gate of the bush WH will be a big story!

6. Not to mention the nuclear investigations
I think they are just finishing up the investigations of weapons plant here in Iowa which manufactured, among other things, nuclear components. Many of the workers from that time period are now having similar health problems which are being traced back to radiation exposure.

The Iowa plant is only one... there are many across the nation and the workers are all suffering from similar diseases and afflictions.

7. Corporation are no longer accountable for the damage they do
to people or the environment

It is one more step to ready the working class for sweat shops.
Next they will pass laws making labor unions illegal.
Then the minimum wage will be abandoned in the name of global competition.
Sweat shops, unsafe products, dangerous work conditions, poisoned food and drugs.
Doctors making mistakes, doesn't matter, so what if they cut off the wrong leg, you will not be able to chase the doctor down the street when he is finished with you.

9. face it, folks . . . we, the people, are no longer represented . . .
in Washington . . . the entire plutocracy, Republican and Democrat, it beholden to no one but the business interests who grease their palms and stroke their egos . . . the notion that this country is a democracy is beyond laughable at this point . . . it's a corporatocracy, and when the corporations are done raping it (and us), it's going to be a bankrupt corporatocracy . . . at which point the corporations will simply move on to their next target . . .

is there anything Republican that the Democrats in Congress WON'T support? . . . I doubt it . . .

10. This is SO HUGE!
No class-action suits to protect consumers or workers or the environment.

It will take years to change this... if ever.

Now... back to the Michael Jackson trial.

13. Why is it that people don't understand that the courts are our way
Edited on Fri Feb-11-05 04:53 AM by Solly Mack
of protecting our rights? When you're screwed over, you take it to court. That way your rights can be protected from those who would abuse your rights. When government limits your ability to seek redress through the courts, they are quashing your rights.

How hard is this to grasp?
