Bully Theory

I'm curious about what you all think of this:

Whenever the Republicans attack, smear, lie, distort, etc., and the Democrats respond with "stop it" or "you're not fair," it gives the impression of a bully beating up a kid who's yelling "stop." Thus, the kid looks weak and helpless while the bully, regardless of how evil and mean he is, is simply ignored.

This whole Reid/Bush thing brought back memories of the campaign. Now, Reid is called an "obstructionist" and all of that garbage, but the response is always "the president said he was bipartisan" or "stop it." I guess what I'm trying to say is, in my impression, the kid who's receiving the beating and asks the bully to stop looks just as worse as the bully himself.

2. It's tough

when the pubs are in the majority. Reid, I believe, is doing what he can.

3. Because that is what we are taught by this group.

We are taught that the bully is strong even though the treality is that hte Bully just has size and is throwing around his weight in an attempt to prove his superiority when it is known he lacks such.

The way you beat a bully is that you show everyone that he's a bully, not by yelling stop, but standing up against him, not always with violence, but with conviction, not acting like the wounded party.

When I was young I was picked on by bullies because I was lanky and awkward. I yelled for the bullies to stop, I tried to avoid them, all the things any child does. I studied Tae Kwon Do at that point and knew how to defend myself but didn't strike out for a long time for the fear that they would hurt me worse for trying to stop them.

One day one of the bullies pushed my head into a locker to slam it shut on my ear twice. I balled up my first, struck him on the jaw and this 'boy' who was almost a foot taller than me went down like he was made of jelly.

After that I had a lot less problems with the bullies though even through highschool there were those that took my prefernce for non-violence as weakness before they attempted the bullying cycle.

As I learned how to defend myself better as I got older I never struck first, but learned that sometimes the only thing that a bully respects is power and have no idea how to handle someone that uses power wisely.

This administration is the same. They are a bunch of nasty mean bullies who beat people over the head with lies and deception. The only way to teach them where they belong is to ball up a fist of truth, close our eyes and lay these corrupt and bullying administration out on the floor, realing from how much the truth really does hurt.

We are weak and all but helpless before the mighty rethuglican
machine, in case you hadn't noticed.

Not ignored, actually, cheered on by an ever-adoring media.

We don't look any better if we say nothing.

We won't look any better no matter what we say or do, because the
media will spin everything to favor the rethuglicans.
