4. No! If you don't work, you don't eat!
Every man for himself! Social Darwinism! The unproductive should be allowed to die so they don't reproduce even more leeches on society!

I am a very successful programmer but only because of such programs which helped me after my divorce. While I was a navy wife, we used them as well. I do not know what we have done without them. Are we the party with the heart to help, I hope so. I now give back far more in taxes then I ever took so I am that success story for which these type of programs work. I thank you all for your help. Surely I would not be the tax payer I am today without you. I am so grateful to you. My children live normals lives, are part of the working class, have gone on to college while working. There is no chain of poverty and my family is part of the main stream of American. I hope you do not mine me sharing my life with you. This is why I am a Democrat today and for life. I demand the same of my children and they realize why.

We should send them to camps.

Uhhh...of COURSE I support food stamps, and people who don't seem not too far away from the sarcastic reply I posted above...

11. Food stamps really created to
help give an outlet for excess production as much as to give food to the poor. There was a major disconnect during the depression when frarmers went brokeand couldn't sell crops which spoiled or were thrown away while millions starved. Solved two problems at once.
Also was one of the steps in creating the welfare queen, but that's another repuke story.
How else would Walmart workers afford to eat?

17. Ag Dept program
It is a farm subsidy as much as anything. And helps all of us by keeping a consistent flow into the food market. These programs have helped prevent depressions. But the rich don't care about that because they make money off depressions too.

14. No! I heard one time that
somebody getting food stamps cheated or something. It's a scam! I also heard about a woman that picks up her welfare check in a Cadillac. Wait, it might be the same person. Either way, it's all a scam.

15. Absolutely yes. I also approve of no cost unversities and
universal health care. While we are at it, I think the utilities should be put back under public control, run as non profit and put an end to the runaway costs that are draining us all.

20. I approve of them with restrictions (bold move getting on flame suit)
I don't think food stamps should be able to be used for prepared foods -- reason being they are grossly overpriced and generally unhealthy.

Cooking isn't that difficult (if I can do it any moron can)

Food stamps IMO should be restricted for the purchase of things like fresh or frozen produce, milk/dairy, eggs, meat, poultry, or fish, baking supplies, grains and rice, and dried spices.

I think with everything else (except for bread or some vegetarian meat type substitutes)you should be on your own.

21. An amazing "lightning rod" imposition by the "GREEDY" reminder.
Geez.

The "fortunate" and "self-serving" seems to impose guilt upon all the rest of us who were either not born into or having great fortune visit our lives.

Look.

We have been given the power to either build or destroy.

The "destroyers" are in power.

23. I approve of food stamps, medical/dental stamps, gas stamps, you name it.
There but for the grace of God go I.

Judge not, lest ye be judged.

God strike me dead if I ever become so pathetically selfish that I am unwilling to help someone in need.
