The real Gannon/Guckert scandal.

We all know this guy was a phony ($50 diploma mill credentials) and worked for a phony news organization (a branch of GOPUSA).

As was Will Pitt said "sending Gannon in there is like having me sub in for Derek Jeter as shortstop for the Yankees."

As good a ball player as Will may be, the public, the FANS, the sports punditry would not let the charade go on for long. Within a couple of plays, the ruse would be discovered.

Gannon looked as unprepared and unprofessional a player as there ever has been in the WH Press Room. I practically did a Danny Thomas spit take the first time I heard this guy open his mouth to opine.

Where was the outrage? From anyone/anywhere? Who could possibly think that what Gannon was doing was reportage? To quote Bill Moyers, "the delusional is no longer marginal." This goes double for the "journalists" who are now coddling and generating sympathy for Guckert.

Maybe Will has a lucrative future in MLB (heck, maybe I do too!).

When those "real" reporters sat there and listened to the thinly (I mean THINLY) veiled attacks on the Democrats that "Gannon" couched as questions and said NOTHING - you knew they were "in on it". How could they just sit there and make no remark or comment about the nature of this "reporter's" questions? It just shows how far from real reporting our "real" reporters have come. They are so unaccustomed to thinking critically, that they didn't even question this!

This Guckert guy was completely unfit to cover the whitehouse, let alone speak in a press conference. It was bloody OBVIOUS.

Help me here, what is going on?

1. People are not paying attention.

2. People are too stupid to tell this guy was little league material.

3. People could tell, but didn't care. (Frogs in a pot of slowly boiled water?).

4. People don't know how to express their outrage.

5. People have no way to communicate their outrage to the Govt.

6. People are expressing their outrage, with no result.

Anyway you slice it, it is scandalous.

Had he been a terrorist he could have blown himself up at a Bush press conference or poisoned the water in the White House. If they really didn't do a search of any kind on this man or did such a lousy one they missed him being a gay pimp, then they would have missed a terrorist backround too. Instead of being a funny story about hypocrites mixed in with the lying, this could have been a tragic story of assassination mixed in with the lying.

If this angle was framed correctly, I think more people might be more concerned.

16. It might be tripe, but that's what was said on CNN

yesterday (regarding day passes being less vetted), so that's the story these clowns are going with. If that's the case, why wasn't there more concern for a possible terrorist, etc. It pretty much brings me to the conclusion that the WH is lying through their teeth; this would enable others to see the same thing. Just a thought thrown out there to aid in the discussion. :)

13. Abeling And Abeting...

Looking at those press conferences now look like a total joke. One ringer has been outed...and it was done by people far removed from the journalism field. Who knows how many more are in that room.

When I saw one of the videos I saw David Gregory of NBC & Ann Compton of ABC sitting within seats of Gannon. They certainly knew who he was...as did the other major beat reporters. Now they are silent as lambs...as are their corporate media masters as the remnants of their credibility goes down the drain.

Of course Snotty McClelland was going to lie about his relationship with "Gannon" and how he was able to get regular day passes. We all know this goon was a surrogate to disrupt or direct news conferences. One poster astutely noted that many of "Gannon's" questions were used in live conferences televised on Faux & CNNservative...and the rest of that press pool knew it as well.

Imagine some intern with a diploma from the Seychelles Medical school trying to walk into an operating room at Johns Hopkins. Or a fan walking out of the stands...after going to one of those fantasy camps, and sitting in the dugout with the Yankees or Red Sox. And no one in that room noticed? No one has said a word? The buck is being passed, the story is being covered like it's the plague and this is all about us unpatriotic "libruls" picking on someone we don't like.

Remember, it took Watergate nearly 8 months to really break into the open (from the actual break-in to the first real major network news coverage)...and then another 14 months after that until Nixon fell...and that was with a media that was far more credible and objective than today.

We need more and more Progressive and Liberal voices...speaking the truth and forcing the corporate media to be accountable to the people/consumers...not their regulators and benefactors.
