Rahall opposes Gorge plans

Rep. Nick Rahall, D-W.Va., opposes an Atlanta company’s plan to put part of a 4,300-acre development within the boundary of the New River Gorge National River.

Earlier this week, Rahall aide Jim Zoia met with officials from Land Resource Companies to discuss the company’s proposal. He said he told them that Rahall would fight efforts to build inside the national park.

“Congressman Rahall is opposed to the development of the 613 acres of the proposal that are within the park boundary,” Zoia said.
