Talon News Washington, DC reporter and White House Correspondent Jeff Gannon submitted his resignation from our organization effective February 8, 2005.

I understand and support Jeff's decision, and have accepted the resignation.

We are currently evaluating candidates to fill this critical assignment, and anticipate minimal interruption of Talon's coverage of our nation's capitol and the White House in the meantime.

7. Has anyone checked out Eberle's credentials?

I'm no good on the computer--compared to most people here. But I just googled his name and found via Kos that he earned a M.S. and Ph.D. from Rice in TX. So I went to the Rice website under alumni and typed in his name and there were no matches.

This is probably wishful thinking on my part and he's p;robably perfectly legit. But could someone with more skill than I at sleuthing please take a few moments and check to see if this guy really has the degrees he claims to have?

The guy's as much of a journalist as I am. He got his "credentials" by publishing white house press releases as reportage -- anyone can set up a website and call themselves a jounalist, which is exactly what he did.

I have a knitting blog. Now if I could only get a press pass, I'd be eligible for the Pulitzer Prize...
