favorite song: imagine
how are you going to not vote for the guy that names "imagine, by john lennon" as his favorite song?

kucinich is a good guy, has the right ideas, and has one helluva a backbone. no matter what happens with the nomination, kucinich is right (as in left, if ya know what i mean ;-) )

i thought the debate was wonderful--i think every candidate had at least one great moment, and i found myself thrilled that all of them were willing to bring it home to bush.

i've not watched any of the debates prior to this one, as i didn't want to form a first (and unalterable) position without fair background on all. some of the candidates have a history not so much to my liking...

but overall, i think we have a great representation of the dem party. anyone else find themsleves smiling when Carol did? i just couldn't help it! i would love her to be my prez, but even more, my friend!

1. We were at the forum in Stillwater
and afterwards, I have to say, I decided I would love to see her as Dennis' VP. She is a very warm, witty, gracious, and beautiful lady. :)

3. If you grew up in the sixties, sure
If you are under the age of 40, its a nice song, but the meaning isn't the same.

10. you're saying this has no meaning to you?
Imagine there's no heaven,
It's easy if you try,
No hell below us,
Above us only sky,
Imagine all the people
living for today...

Imagine there's no countries,
It isnt hard to do,
Nothing to kill or die for,
No religion too,
Imagine all the people
living life in peace...

Imagine no possesions,
I wonder if you can,
No need for greed or hunger,
A brotherhood of man,
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world...

You may say Im a dreamer,
but Im not the only one,
I hope some day you'll join us,
And the world will live as one.

Man, I don't care how old you are, that says something.

6. dead on!
That song has serious special meaning to me personally and I was elated when he said that.

That and "No!" on the $87B. Not, "well, I'd support the troops and make sure that nobody was pissed off at me for blah blah blah..." like the other guys, except Kerry did.

Go Dennis Go!

7. Ahhh, wouldn't it be nice?
I have nothing but huge respect for the three of them. DK, CMB and AS. I imagine that is probably pie in the sky but what a wonderful ticket any combination of those three would make. DK does indeed have a backbone, he inspires me in ways I had thought I had become too jaded to feel.

8. Hi Shugah!
I didn't see tonight's debate (I couldn't tune into Fox - I would implode on a molecular level), but your words ring true.

I am afraid Norman Mailer was right when he spoke of this nation being like an angry adolescent, with too much power in its hands, running roughshod over the world. We have an angry over-privileged boy in the White House to prove it.

Part of me fears that unless we are willing to be a mature and wise nation, we will never have a mature and wise president, no matter who DUers choose. I have no flames for any of the candidates.

A great deal of what makes me mourn for us at times is the wasted potential the nation squanders. Are we getting what we deserve? Is there that much fear, hatred, and loathing, or toxic apathy that we allowed us to get us in this deep hole? Must we settle for corporatized puppets and other soulless mediocrities?? No, we MUST NOT. I embrace optimism, even between bouts of cynicism and despair. I welcome your optimistic post as a reminder of what we can be, and should be.

Imagine, there's no Bush. It is EASY - and we don't even have to try. :-)

22. Well- it is with the young crowd
Edited on Tue Sep-09-03 10:12 PM by Tinoire
Wyclef Jean is Fugees.

I have his music and my university days are long past ;)

It doesn't even matter. If he knows it really, KUDOS for the musical tastes. If he doesn't and just said that, then KUDOS for prep.

An outstanding prepper would have researched the demographics of the Morgan State crowd... Lots of Haitian students and Wyclef Jean (Haitian), is very big with the young Black crowd there.

I still prefer "Imagine" ;)

Edited on Tue Sep-09-03 10:18 PM by Tinoire
Personally I think Dean has ONE HELL of a prepper because this is too atypical... A very nice Clinton touch there...

I love the song but have a hard time believing non Afro-club-hopping people would... Wyclef Jean is extremely gifted but his music is a little cacaphonic...

But you never know... Either way it was a good answer...

The guy plays some music and he has sons (or a son, I don't know)who may have brought Wyclef to him. That is how I learned about his music.

I'll bet there is much music

He plays guitar and probably has a wide musical palette.

I doun't doubt it.

Kucinich still had the best serious answer.

Sharpton had the best, quickest clever answer.

Gep had the lamest.

23. Again, John Lennon inspires a global movement
There's no doubt, John and Yoko are an inspiration to a great progressive sceptical movement mainly rooted in the new International Internet Generation.

Get in the groove!
