McClellan says * budget is "compassionate", does not cut social programs
Edited on Fri Feb-11-05 12:42 PM by paineinthearse
At today's WH press briefing, a reporter asked why * budget gives increased tax cuts to the wealthy while reducing funding for social progams, such as head start and food stamps.

McClellan said the * budget is "compassionate" and makes no such cuts. I'll post the transcript asap.

1. It must be nice to know you can lies so blatantly without consequence
Almost enought o make a person go out and join the PARTY.

Of course, then I would belong to the same family of Unquestioning Totalitarian Bootlickers that include the Nazis and Soviets, and I could NEVER do that.

Still, it must be nice to know you can do that, or be a drug addict like Pigboy Limba or and attempted murderer like the Bushevik Antrhrax Assassin and KNOW that the PARTY will purposefully tank the investigation and you are going to be just fine.

5. I'm glad I'm not a gunowner!!
Not that I'm a violent sort--but if I were to ever snap, it is better to not have weapons nearby. These people fill me with so much anger with their blatent lies and social darwinism. Maybe its time to verbally abuse one of those volunteers on the White House comments line again.

Edited on Fri Feb-11-05 01:28 PM by UCSBLiberalCat53
Of course, because compassion only applies to the rich, so he IS telling the truth. Those cuts are for those who don't deserve to be called human. :hangover: :wtf: :puke: :eyes:

9. Transcript...."In terms of the President's compassion agenda"
Q Scott, why -- why did the President cut down on food stamps and child care and a thousand other -- well, not that many -- social causes, and so forth, and give huge tax cuts to the rich again?

MR. McCLELLAN: He didn't.

Q He didn't cut down on food stamps and child care, and so forth?

MR. McCLELLAN: In terms of the President's compassion agenda and providing a safety net for those in need, we have made a strong commitment to helping those who are in need. And I think you should look at our budget and look at what we've done, because I disagree with your characterization. You might want to look at our budget to see the specifics. We've continued to support those programs that are providing aid to those in need.

Q And everyone who has been getting food stamps --

MR. McCLELLAN: If you've got a specific, I'm glad to talk about it, but you should go back and look at the briefing earlier this week by our OMB Director, and he addressed these issues. And your characterization is just --

Q In such a vague way and he didn't really hit them.

<McClellan went on to the next reporter...>
