more invalid internet polling to remind us of the necessity for inferential statistics, big name polling results the corporate media substitutes for news stories, voter removal lists, election day blockades etc to achieve a fair and just democracy, etc etc.

According to the poll running away with it at 71% now. Dean is in second with 3% all others have 1%. Too early to tell.

I do like the fact that they are posing these questions on their site. On the front page they ask if you are a registered voter and if you plan on voting in the upcoming election.

I went to the Council of La Raza convention here in Austin this summer and one of the workshops was "2002 what happened to the Latino voter?" One interesting comment from the panel was the drop off in PSAs at Univision. They said that compared to the 2000 election the reminders about voting, even the short little 15 second ones like "su voto es su voz/your vote is your voice" dropped off more than 50%. Voters of all sections need to be reminded to vote, people get busy.

The biggest bump in Latino voter turnout was 1994 the year Pete Wilson put out his anti-immigrant Prop 187 on the CA ballot. That increased voter turnout of Latinos in every state across the country. The fact that Pete Wilson has reared his ugly head again could help increase Latino voter turnout again and not just in California.

3. I don't think Bill Richardson has decided yet.

I'm sure that as soon as he makes up his mind, he'll go to that secret room in the New Mexico governor's mansion, the one with all the hi tech equipment that controls the minds of all Latino voters, and he'll issue the order.

Of course, it's possible that the equipment hasn't been maintained and that each Latino voter will have to make up his or her own mind. It's even possible that Latino's will split their votes among different candidates.
