I'll bet most DUers are scratching their heads over that: Eason? Who's Eason.
Over in right-wingville, Eason is the issue du jour.
At Davos, Eason Jordan of CNN made an off-the-record remark that US soldiers had killed 12 journalists, which some observers (including Barney Frank, interestingly) interpreted as an accusation. Jordan denies this now--especially now that he's been whacked by the attack of the right-wing bloggers.
I bring this up because we might be rudely awoken this weekend to discover that Eason has overtaken Gannon as the issue de jour among journalists, who will be joining along with their conservative brethren in demanding the head of the head of CNN news--even if what Jordan said is plainly true.
I sadly predict that some pundit, this weekend or sometime next week, will point out the "distinction" between the gravity of right-wing blogging and the frivolity of left wing blogging. See how the left wastes its ammo on an inconsequential fraud while the right targets the very center of media power, he or she will say. Then Gannon will go the way of James Bath, down into the memory hole. A new Talon shill will warm the seat Gannon left vacant, and a righter-wing exec will warm the one left empty by Eason.
PS: Here's the blog that opened Eason up for attack:
