In the segment which was to ask, "which do you think is more of a threat, North Korea or Iran"....Matthews asked one of the generals....

Gee...if Iran were to shoot a nuclear weapon at Israel....do you think that they would have time to SCRAMBLE PLANES AND GO UP AND SHOOT IT DOWN???????????????????????????????????

10. They actually asked a number of questions

about whether Israel really had the capability to shoot down nukes or not.

The whole discussion is taking on a very disturbing angle trying to make some logic out of how nuclear weapons can be USED in a tactical sense in the Middle East.

They even referenced the Pakistan/India nuclear standoff as not really a standoff but something that was destabilizing....and possibly dangerous....in some immediate sense. How purposefully unnerving is that?

FACT: The neocons are nuclear paranoid...grand daddy Reagan never understood the advantages of a nuclear standoff....and the ones in power now even understand it less....

The realization of a nuclear capability on the part of IRAN is probably THE MOST STABILIZING force for world peace, since it will stall any future attempts by the neocons to take over the Middle East.

Israel has a number of systems in place to shoot down missiles...aka Patriot type defense...but the reliability if you have just one nuke hit you is obviously .......

A better question then the Iran nuclear intentions would have been: "Generals, what part if any, did either of you play in the 9-11 attacks on this country? Since you can not prevent those attacks, what makes you think you can defend the middle east from aggressive nations bent on destroying world peace?"

His questions were leading....purposefully enticing them to think of strategies to WIN in some way, some fashion...

The generals reveled in their respective analogies about how success in military operations is like winning a football game....

I was frightened by the entire exchange....thinking about how this putz can get on TV and talk to a bunch of one-dimensional military strategists that have no idea that our country has gained NO ADVANTAGE as a result of these military operations...but that it is patentedly going bankrupt in the process.....
