We Need To Replace "The" With "Bush's" When Speaking Of War, Deficits etc.
Why do we say "the" war in Iraq when it is "Bush's" war in Iraq? Why do we call the 1400 departed servicemen "US" dead when they are "Bush's" dead? Why do we call it "the US" deficit when it is really "Bush's" deficit? Why do we blame "the intelligence community" for 9/11 when it was "Bush's" negligence that LIHOP? And on and on it goes.

I'd have to think that this simple semantic change would work wonders in assigning blame where blame is due.

6. Just What The Wingnuts Love To Hear
Personally, I am completely apethetic about this oxygen thief that is squatting in the White House. I go by the old song..."There's a very fine line between love and hate"...to hate you must have loved...and I certainly have never loved this POS or any of his ilk.

The wingnuts love to screetch how all Democrats are doing is "picking" on their boy. This way they detach the horrendous things this entire regime stands for and makes it into a pissing match. Instead of this manchild being the puppet of a regime that profits from death and division, it becomes "you don't like him" crap.

I've been calling it *'s invasion since it began..and I know many others who feel the same way. But to make it really become popular you need a way to transmit that message...and that's certainly not gonna happen on a media where any question of this regime always turns into the "you're picking on *" crap again.

Want the semantics to work? Have them on 1,000,000 placards in the national mall with another 1,000,000 of us behind them letting this regime know we mean business. We need to use all our creative energies, money and connections to create an alternative media where we bypass the filter of a corporate media that is profiting from this regime in too many ways.

7. And how exactly do you get the 1M placards on the mall?
By using the rhetoric suggested. I don't have a bookmark to it but check out Understandinglife's excelent series of threads 'Crushing the Coup' here at DU.

Then go to this thread and spread the word. BTW, it got no attention (probably name recognition thing, but, maybe I'm just stupid) and needs another recommendation to make the greatest page.

8. People Aren't Mad Enough Yet...
I don't know how many more funerals and broken bodies walking our streets it will take...or a draft, but there, hopefully, will come a time when enough people in this country will feel the effects of this regime and want to really do something.

Right now, except for the mere fraction of a fraction who inhabit places like DU and actually are involved in some form of political activism, the vast majority couldn't be bothered. Many on the left have been so battered, they're gun-shy to really speak up in numbers.

Just look back at the big rally that took place in NYC during the RNC. It was a joy to behold and sent a very large and chilling message to the power elite. It also sent a lot of hope to a lot of people. We need more of this and make it so more people are aware and join in.

I stand ready when the time comes...if it does, but I'm no Don Quixote. There a lot of networking and connecting to be made and common causes to be united. Right now, there are too many more worried about Michael Jackson, what size big screen to buy and what's on sale at Wal-Mart. Attitudes need to change.

9. What *have* you done then...

Who is going to help the people get mad then? Standing ready just doesn't cut it! Did you even go look at that thread?

Label me Quixotic, an asshole, whatever you want. But get off your ass and do something to spread the word! It's the apathetic attitude of doom and gloom that's standing in our way.

The people aren't mad because they aren't informed. It's up to YOU and ME to inform them.

10. 30 Years Of Contributing...
...from marching in rallies, working campaigns, volunteering for veterans groups to making contributions and offering free services where I can.

Apathetic? Look around. I applaud your outrage and your readiness to do something...and count on me when it matters...but there aren't many others who really feel the same way. Posting on a message board to like-minded people is good to vent one's emotions, but I see little of that transfering over into my real world.

Last year I worked extensively on one of the only Congressional campaigns where a Democrat ousted an incumbent Repugnican. We did it with very little support other than our own determination to make a change and communicate it to our area. Instead of seeing our work as a step forward, I saw a party fracture after the election into its own special interests and still hasn't found a real voice. When it does, then I'll be ready to take the next step.

Now what do you plan to do?
