1. Dontcha think they'd get tired of shouting their programmed
talking points? Dontcha think they'd like to think for themselves? I believe the one you display came about thusly from at least the pulpit. Evil libruls are doing all they can to keep us from replacing the constitution with the bible, therefore they support Islam. Its very easy to fool most in red state congregations to think that way.

2. Radical Islam is Inherently RW
Edited on Sat Feb-12-05 01:26 PM by Sporadicus
The radical clerics would turn back the clock, which - last time I looked - makes them reactionary. That is the very definition of right wingery!

On edit: their religious fundamentalism puts them in the company of similarly-minded 'Christian' fundamentalists as well as those Jewish sects who plot to blow up the temple mount in order to rebuild it & bring on the Messiah.

4. Yesterday I read a thread in FR that claimed Nazis to be "Left Wing" rads
Edited on Sat Feb-12-05 02:05 PM by JohnnyRingo
Because an article pointed out that right wing demonstrations are making a come back with pro-Nazi rallys in Germany.

They immediatly framed these demonstrators as "socialists" and "liberals" in order to distance themselves from that mindset.

I know they also identify Communists with the same labels....I guess right wing politics now defines only patriotic Americans.

Amazing isn't it?

BTW....Riverbend has a great new entry on the situation in Iraq:

5. Her description of the deteriorating position of Iraqi women

as demonstrated by the ministry official who told her to dress more appropriately, is especially disturbing.

From Riverbend:

We headed for the building containing the ministry employees (but hardly ever containing the minister). It was small and cramped. Every 8 employees were stuck in the same room. The air was tense and heavy. We were greeted in the reception area by a bearded man who scanned us disapprovingly. “Da’awachi,” my cousin whispered under his breath, indicating the man was from the Da’awa Party. What could he do for us? Who did we want? We wanted to have some documents legalized by the ministry, I said loudly, trying to cover up my nervousness. He looked at me momentarily and then turned to the cousin pointedly. My cousin repeated why we were there and asked for directions. We were told to go to one of the rooms on the same floor and begin there.

“Please dress appropriately next time you come here.” The man said to me. I looked down at what I was wearing- black pants, a beige high-necked sweater and a knee-length black coat. Huh? I blushed furiously. He meant my head should be covered and I should be wearing a skirt. I don’t like being told what to wear and what not to wear by strange men. “I don’t work here- I don’t have to follow a dress code.” I answered coldly. The cousin didn’t like where the conversation was going, he angrily interceded, “We’re only here for an hour and it really isn’t your business.”

“It is my business.” Came the answer, “She should have some respect for the people who work here.” And the conversation ended. I looked around for the people I should be respecting. There were three or four women who were apparently ministry employees. Two of them were wearing long skirts, loose sweaters and headscarves and the third had gone all out and was wearing a complete “jubba” or robe-like garb topped with a black head scarf. My cousin and I turned to enter the room the receptionist had indicated and my eyes were stinging. No one could talk that way before the war and if they did, you didn’t have to listen. You could answer back. Now, you only answer back and make it an issue if you have some sort of death wish or just really, really like trouble.

7. Really???
I could have sworn that Bush was the one who is an honorary member of the Saudi Royal and so close to them that they call each other brother.

Last time I checked, 16 of the alleged 19 hijackers on 9/11 were Saudis, but nothing has been done to chastise Saudi Arabia for it by the Bush administration.

Last time I checked, Bush is the one who has been a long time business partner with the bin Laden family, and his administration allowed them to leave the country after 9/11 occurred.

These "rightwing nuts," are a bunch of stupid dummies, basically.

Why don't they go somewhere and actually learn the facts.

8. Bosh! I'm far too busy murdering babies and burning the flag.
Not to mention cashing my checks from Moscow, smoking Cuban cigars, eating French Fries, convincing children to have sex, hugging trees, subverting religion, teaching evolution, grabbing guns, promoting homosexuality, undermining "free enterprise", singing the "Internationale", sending birthday cards to Fidel, dusting my Lenin statue, and hating America.

I mean, who has time for supporting radical Islam?
