I always counter the wingnuts who say Clinton didn't do anything about the '93 attack by pointing out the number of people arrested, tried and convicted. And this was done in our criminal courts and done fairly.

Then I ask how many of the 9/11 plotter have been brought to trial? To directly face the families? What's the hold-up? If Khalid Sheik-Muhammed was a principal plotter, why hasn't he been charged and put on trial? This one gets their heads spinning.

When the chief anti-terrorism unit in the US admits that they have taken no specific measures to curb new attacks, you have to wonder if there is really a domestic threat at all. Repubs are right that we haven't been attacked since 9/11, but it is no fault of the bushies.

Any student of the 9/11 attacks knows that international terrorism (especially against the US and Israel) is a very expensive and risky venture. Those perpetrators must find exploitable holes in security. All we've had to do is enforce laws already on the books. It's much cheaper to attack US assets in Iraq than to recruit and train jihadis to execute suicide missions here.

Another thing to consider is that any new terror attack in the US must dwarf 9/11. How can they possibly do this (short of detonating a nuclear weapon in a highly populated area)? It's not going to happen.
