We sent flowers to the hospital, to the family on behalf of ourselves and everyone here at DU. This is just great news!

on edit: to anyone and everyone, if you ever have the chance/opportunity to hear her speak, don't miss it. Even if you have to drive a couple of hours.

on 2nd edit: the article was wrong, GrannyD has been an activist for a very long time. "Haddock became an activist for democracy late in life. At 89, she embarked on a cross-country walk to promote campaign finance reform."

She and her husband helped stop warheards/nukes, or something being placed in Alaska many, many years ago.
