Why? This regime is a corporation. They have all the power. These killers have condoned their own genocide. There is no opposing power anymore. The only opposition to Republican Imperialism and Empire by Manifest/Christian Destiny must come from factors outside our borders.

I have no idea what that might look like, but I do know that this is a fascist regime with designs on a political/religious system that has no likeness to the Constitution, Bill of Rights, or the Declaration of Independence.

1. what's with the Armageddon BS? We are NOT going to lose big!
Edited on Sun Feb-13-05 12:10 AM by ultraist
They still need our votes regardless of the corp money. The only way they can win is to cheat.

It's the end of the world, AS WE KNOW IT...and I feel fine.

Cheer up!

14. Unless we all get off our butts and force our states
to go to paper ballots, we will lose big in 06 and 08.

The more horrible this bunch is, the more of the faithful start to wake up. With no organized opposition, when their policies start to blow up in their stupid, greedy faces they'll have no one to blame but their own party moderates.

And that is when it is likely to get interesting.

3. Well, then, if that's the case I guess we'd better just give up.
No point in DU, no point in Howard Dean being DNC chair, no point in going to meet-ups, trying to get progressives elected to local offices, no point in doing anything but sucking our thumbs and watching Fear Factor and American Idol.

Or else maybe we can grow spines and fight back...

4. That's why we need to fix the voting problems.
Otherwise, they WILL.

The Dems must be made to understand the perils here. Dean is obviously in tune and will help.

8. Over? Did you say over?
Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no! And it ain't over now! Cause when the going gets tough... the tough get going! Who's with me? - Sen J. Blutarski, '62

9. We are certainly not going to give up
at some point we will rise up like the Russians are doing demanding an increase in benefits, the Iraqis did a year ago demanding elections, like the Blacks did in the 50's and 60's and we will take it back. Right now we need to keep working to get more and more people to question their support for *, to let * alienate more people each day. I think the tide is already turning.

11. Then Go Down Kicking and Screaming
That's what I've decided to do - if you're right, at least I won't be a quiet little drone.

Than and I've always been kind of a shit-kicker, so it's natural for me.

15. Bullshit. Bush is cashing in his chips.
And he's leaving the rest of his party out to dry for one last orgy of greed.

Even attempting Social Security "reform" is going to cost them big. The Iraq occupation remains a problem. Then there's Bush's new budget. It's going to take awhile to sink in, but once it does, even those welfare queens called farmers will hate him.

The Bush Administration is clearly saying, "we don't have to campaign anymore". They don't care what the public thinks, or what it does to the other career crooks in politics. They're going to use the power they've grabbed, or as Bush would say, they're going to "spend the political capital they earned in the campaign".

And with this mindset, what else might they do? Military action in Iran, perhaps even revive the Draft? I'm telling you, they're going steal everything they can on their way out, and destroy their party in the process.
