How Busy Are We "Sexing Up" The WMD Case Against Iran?
Edited on Sun Feb-13-05 08:08 AM by DistressedAmerican
Was reading this article from the Washington Post about spy drone flights over Iran:
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6960480/

The paragraph that really caught my attention was probably unintentional in its implication but, it is very interesting just the same:

"The surveillance has been conducted as the Bush administration sharpens its anti-Iran rhetoric and the U.S. intelligence community searches for information to support President Bush's assertion that Tehran is trying to build nuclear weapons."

That's about it! The intelligence community looking for information to support Bush's assertions. That's how we got to Iraq. That's how we relied so disproportionately on accounts from sleazeballs like Chalabi and the much lauded "screwball". I would suggest looking to determine IF THE ALLEGATIONS ARE TRUE. Rather than looking for evidence to support a preexisting theory. Of course Bush knows nothing of Science or its mysteries but, their methods would not pass even the most cursory of examination.

So, here's my question. Do you think Iran even has such a program? The whole world agrees they do but, them again they all agreed that Saddam was sitting on a stockpile. If they do, do we really have any reliable intelligence about it?

Another question: Why do you think the administration DIDN'T plant WMD in Iraq When they found none? To quote Lewis Black on the Issue, "Why Did they stop lying?" I think I would have if I were him. Maybe it is just not technically feasible. I don't really know much about how these types of tests are carried out. Maybe everything we have has our prints all over it. Of course most of the stuff he DID have back in 91 we sold him. Maybe our prints were all over all of it.

On Edit: One More Question: Will the get away with a scam again or will the American people wise up and Cry Wolf? Will we be reading reports of the flawed intelligence leading up the war AGAIN?

2. Any Chance Condi Will Be Any More Convincing Than Colin Was?
I'd say she has even less credibility. How long until we are going at it unilaterally?

4. Not fast enough, apparently.
Wait till Iran and NK get done double-teaming us. * and Condi are getting taken--big time, and they are going to blow up the planet playing "Fearless Leader". God help us all.
