Bremer's Brew
http://www.occupationwatch.org/article.php?id=5972
With few reconstruction projects underway, and with Bremer's rules favoring U.S. corporations, there has been little opportunity for Iraqis to go back to work, leaving nearly two million unemployed one and a half years after the invasion. Attempts by the Bush administration to reverse this have been minimal, at best. Only three months after Bremer pledged that 50,000 Iraqis would find jobs at construction sites before the formal transfer of sovereignty, fewer than 20,000 local workers are employed.

Bremer's brew,
Iraqi stew,
In the pot,
tie the knot,

Those who play,
cannot stay,
few who win,
take it on the chin,

Rules mandated,
publicly hated,
men unemployed,
dreams destroyed,

Danger looms,
Mounting tombs,
Theocracy it rises,
Democracy it despises,

Self-determinism,
The American way,
Taxed without representation,
Bremer without hesitation,

Agreeing to rules,
Heads nodded by fools,
Colony of corporations,
Heading for desperation,

What's ours is ours,
What's yours is negotiable,
Try and resist,
You'll see our fist,

Slice and dice,
Not so nice,
We'll make you mice,
Let that suffice,

Amongst holy places,
Fourteen bases,
Here to stay,
Not gonna play,

Welcome to the new Iraq,
The new Saudi Arabia,
The many ruled by the few,
What we have, you now have too,

Not to worry,
No don't scurry,
Pattern after us,
Don't make a fuss,

In the end,
You will bend,
Your children you will send,
To faroff wars we rend,

A member of the coalition,
Not of your own volition,
Absorbed by the hive,
And all that jive,

The next time you invade,
Righteousness will pervade,
You will have the blessing,
Of powers that go messing,

In all places and times,
Without reason or rhyme,
In South American countries you may find,
Your children fighting blind,

Against all enemies,
Promoting hegemonies,
Flaunting unbridled power,
Natural resources that flower,

In places you don't own,
But all will be well,
It's an easy sell,
They hate you for your freedom,

So send your Iraqi children,
Where your parent state demands,
Not in the sands,
Not in their own lands,

Follow the lead,
Driven by greed,
Let them bleed,
Fulfill the need,

For unlimited empire,
Light the fire,
Loose the dogs or war,
Help anhialate the poor.

It's called democracy,
When owned by corporations, "hypocrisy",
Play by the rules,
Render yourselves fools,

Remember who you were,
Don't let them blur,
The line between the present you,
And what you shall evolve into.
