A gay friend of mine said no hetro man would ever be a cheerleader...what do you think? is he right? Are hetro men ever cheerleaders?

Just asking. I have no frame of reference - I don't know any cheerleaders.

25. I was a male cheerleader in college
What's with this gay stuff? I can't think of a better place for an athletic heterosexual to spend his time than with beautiful college-age women sitting on his shoulders.

Seriously, it involved a lot of gymnastic talent and raw strength, and the party life was to die for.

Drop the stereotypes. Not one guy on the squad was gay. It was highly competitive, and for a good reason.

There's something wrong with that man.

Despite the inappropriate gestures--as if he's a member of the Hee-Haw studio audience--look at the first picture.

* is not well. Something is terribly wrong.

His face looks like it's melting off of his skull. Like Play-dough or something. He looks bloated and his face looks distorted.

The face looks asymetrical, as if the left side is moving away from the right side. He's got some kind of Pangea/continental drift thing going on with this face.

Something truly is not right.

The left side of his face is dead.

One of the debates in particular, it was scary as hell watching him. The asymetry was awful. As you said, it looked like he was melting.

12. Minstrel Boy do you remember in one of the debates
he had spittle forming in one corner of his mouth throughout the debate, so much so it was truly distracting to people watching?

I remember thinking that was really weird and a lot of people I know who watched it noticed that.

32. Why won't a reporter ASK WHAT'S WRONG WITH HIM?
Edited on Sun Feb-13-05 10:24 PM by Bouncy Ball
And why is the ONLY report of his physicals posted on the White House website the one from 2001?

Why aren't the 2002, 2003 and 2004 physical reports on the White House website?

Why were the press releases of his 2004 physical almost word for word like his 2001 physical?

Why was his 2004 physical delayed until after the election?

Why does one side of his face droop? Why have his verbal skills degenerated so badly over time? Why does he seem to have memory loss issues? Why has he fallen and hurt his face so many times? (Most people throw out their hands instinctively to stop the fall and protect the face.) Has he had a stroke or strokes?

Just get me that White House press pass, I'm a "journalist."

15. I'm looking at them even more
and you can see it in every picture, but especially in the first and last. I noticed in the middle two pictures, he has to do a REALLY big open-mouthed smile to get the two sides of his face symmetrical. It looks like he's putting out a tremendous amount of effort and it's STILL lopsided.

Is it ok to admit I had a one second moment of sympathy for the man? I'm human, ok? The moment went away quickly, but seriously, there really is something physically wrong with him.

Edited on Sun Feb-13-05 10:03 PM by TwoSparkles
Maybe you're on to something here. If he's had a stroke and his face is asymetrical--but smiling big hides that--it would explain why he has that huge shit-eating grin on his face at times.

It's fine to smile, laugh and even at times to smile big--if you're the president. However, he often has these inappropriate giant smiles during sober moments or during times when there's nothing too terribly funny going on.

Maybe that ginormous smile hides whatever is going on with his face.

24. You know what? That explains a LOT.
I mean, I've often thought "DAMN, the people in CHARGE of him can't be so stupid as to tell him not to grin those big-ass goofy grins at the MOST inappropriate moments."

It's not rocket science to say "Hey, um maybe tone down the big grins when serious things are being discussed."

But if he needed to do it to cover up for something wrong with the left side of his face, I guess maybe they figure a big-ass goofy grin at inappropriate times is better than people catching on that he has a medical problem.

Helloooooooo?

The juxtaposition of those stoic, expressionless Secret Service men that surround *--as he pelts out that electric grin--is surreal!

26. BTW, smoogatz, he fits more the profile of a stroke victim
Sudden numbness or weakness of the face, arm or leg, especially on one side of the body
Sudden confusion, trouble speaking or understanding
Sudden trouble seeing in one or both eyes
Sudden trouble walking, dizziness, loss of balance or coordination
Sudden, severe headache with no known cause

http://www.strokeassociation.org/presenter.jhtml?identifier=1020

We know he has fallen multiple times and injured his FACE (how many times have you fallen and injured your face? Your hands fly out by instinct, don't they???), we know his cognitive/verbal skills have degenerated over the last decade (ever seen the clip of him debating Ann Richards in 1994? Woooo, it's scary how bad he is now).

27. And this is what happens
if the left side of your face is affected:

Left Brain
If the stroke occurs in the left side of the brain, the right side of the body (and the left side of the face) will be affected, producing some or all of the following:

Paralysis on the right side of the body
Speech/language problems
Slow, cautious behavioral style
Memory loss

31. Bell's Palsy can come and go
That's why I think it's a likely diagnosis. Sometimes Bush is much sharper than others; sometimes his face looks better than others. Stroke victims don't have those kinds of recovery/relapse cycles, as far as I know. Bell's palsy can also be excruciatingly painful--so some of the loss of coordination, etc., might be due to heavy doses of pain-killers.

35. I haven't seen a picture in months in which the left side of his face
looked totally normal.

Either one of us could be correct, though I still lean toward stroke.

Still, I wonder why no one is asking. Hell, after Clinton's 1996 physical reporters in the White House were asking if he had a sexually transmitted disease and they had NO REASON to think he did.

And they asked REPEATEDLY.

Yet this president has memory loss, coordination/walking problems, left side of his face is dead, verbal/cognitive problems, delayed physical, the only physical report on the WH website is from 2001 and no one asks a fucking thing.

34. Does alcoholism increase the occurrence of strokes?
I remember reading about Bush's binge drinking, which began in college. Supposedly, he was a raging alcoholic--not one of those guys who just drank a few beers a day. He was a sloppy, speech-slurred lush.

If he drank like that in college, and continued until (as he claims) he was saved by Jebus--that means he was an active drunk for 2 decades.

I wonder what that does to a brain?

36. Yes, "heavy alcohol consumption" is listed
as a risk factor for stroke.

http://alcoholism.about.com/b/a/137062.htm

"Heavy Drinking Increases Stroke Risk 45 Percent"

A new study has found that heavy drinkers -- men who consume an average of three or more alcoholic beverages per day -- are nearly 45 percent more likely to suffer an ischemic stroke compared with non drinkers. The study, reported in the January 4, 2005 issue of the Annals of Internal Medicine, also found that light and moderate drinkers have neither greater risk nor greater advantage than abstainers when it comes to stroke, but the frequency at which they drink may influence their risk.

That's not from botox. His face wouldn't be lopsided like that. And botox can't account for all the unusual spills he's taken, the forgetfulness, the verbal problems he has, etc.

39. After reading this article
I'm now beginning to wonder about all his trips to Crawford.

After all, if he has had a stroke (or strokes) he would have had to have been hospitalized.

And normally the president being hospitalized is a big news story, even if he's just getting something minor done. For a stroke would be MONGO big.

Yet we've never heard such a thing.

http://www.patienthealthinternational.com/ncm.aspx?type=article¶m=501339

"Overall, during the recovery period, this will also involve rehabilitation to improve speech, movement and activity levels. Following this, the main aim of treatment is to prevent another stroke from happening."

42. Most people's faces
are asymmetrical. With Bush it's unusually noticeable. I recall it being remarked upon back during the 2000 campaign.

But I wouldn't be surprised if something else is going on, whether Bell's Palsy, a series of strokes, or something else, I'm certainly not qualified to judge. It's clear his mental acuity has deteriorated a great deal in the last four years.
