A call to arms......and feet and hands and hearts

Just another reminder. March 19th. Be in Washington DC or at least be somewhere demanding that our troops be brought home from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. We've given the Iraqi and Afghani people a chance to control their own destinies we now need to prove it to them and the world that we will not become an occupying force with designs on the natural resources of a sovereign nation. Why won't the administration commit to any exit strategy if we are only liberators? Call for a plan for withdrawal. Call for no permanent bases to be built in Iraq until there is a clear mandate from the Iraq people that they desire our presence their. In my opinion our best way to stabilize Iraq is to leave them to fight for the legitimacy of their own democracy as we had to two and a half centuries past. With continued attacks on our troops and the populace it must be evident that this quagmire will not cease as long as certain factions see their country as controlled by a superpower. If we remain to simply kill any opposition to our presence then we have become the enemy we supposedly invaded to fight and can claim no moral imperative to impose a new regime on a country. If it's meant to, the spark of democracy we have given to the Middle East will ignite further on its own. If our motives are truly pure and noble, then we must prove it before the global community who we must coexist with. Our legitimacy in the game of world politics will forever be tarnished if we don't and we will gain nothing but shadow enemies bent on our eventual fall. Come out in force and numbers that our leaders and the world can't ignore and scream it from the cities and hamlets, slums and suburbs that WE WANT WAR NO MORE!!! Peace is more healthy for children and other living things.
