Poll about Bush spending in my local newspaper.
Do you think President Bush's spending plans will cause big deficits after he leaves office?

Hello? Anybody looked at the federal budget lately? What does he care about what happens after he's gone.

1. He cares in the sense that someone else...probably a Democrat will be
saddled with the baggage and will, once again, have to bail the country out.

4. And the 'Liberal Media" will blame in on the Dems.
They like to sling the tax and spend label around when they talk about the dems. But they never call the republicans what they are: barrow and spend or more truthfully Lie,cheat, steal and spend party.

3. His spending has followed the pattern of every republican president since
Eisenhower, who was the last fiscally conservative republican president. Of the $4 trillion in accumulated federal deficits since 1960, over 90% was accumulated under republican presidents. And of the 14 times the annual deficit has exceeded 3% of GDP during that time, every single time was under a republican president.

6. He didn't in Texas.
"What does he care about what happens after he's gone?" When he was asked about the impending Texas deficit, (this was while he was campaigning in '00) he replied that he hope he wouldn't have to deal with it and that he was seeking a higher office. He turned a surplus into a deficit and couldn't have cared less about it and was itchin' to do the same with the Clinton surplus.
