11. We Don't Need To Make Games Of This

I saw Aravosis on with Aaron Brownnose and have been following his blog...and, honestly, folks, I wish he'd stick to working on the story and not playing Drama Queen.

Hopefully he's got something that moves this story along...keeping the focus on the manipulation of the media by this regime, and the corruption within that media due to its profits and perks ahead of the public interest it claims to serve. Let the story get off that focus and the issue of fairness and credibility of the corporate media and our own freedoms get sidetracked as well.

There's a ton of questions that have been begging to be asked for a long time regarding the relationship of GOOP and the media...and be assured, there are more "Gannons" out there.

This goon wasn't outted, he operated in plain sight. It wasn't until he got sloppy and arrogant and goaded people to check him out that this got the show going. We were on this same track last year when we were finding the links between the Slime Boaters, the RNC and the media and the "heat" of the election cooled off this story. Now's the time to look back on those investigations and see if it ties into this one. I'm sure we'll find a ton of common links. The hard part is to come up with solid links...meetings, telephone records, bank transactions, travel vouchers and so on that will start unravelling where the money changes hands...when we get to that level, this story will blow sky high.

A lot of props have to be given to the many who've been on this think endlessly for the past week. There's the Koz community, Media Matters and lots of folks here at DU that are finding pieces that need to be consolidated then really investigated. Let's not let personalities and self promotion let this big fish get away...our freedoms and future depend on it.

Right now the more information that's put out and the better that info is keeps this story going. Turning it into fun and games or diverting off the media focus and onto private lives or personalities gives the corporate media more reason to ignore and debunk this story.

Avatosis helped us a great deal by being out front with his blog...and then for cramming it up Brownose's behind...that got me reading his blog.

Right now our need for the corporate media to be held accountable and this corruption exposed far outweighs any individual promotion.

If he hits a goldmine that makes this the top story on tonight's newscasts, then he deserves credit, not before.

If it were proven that Gannon actually is/was a male hustler - again, this is just a hypothetical - then is this story still about his private life, would that be enough to distinguish him from bloggers like Markos at DailyKos, and would that fact be relevant to the issue of how he got access to the White House, the president and CIA documents?
