Lieberman - The Darling of FAUX News
I know I'm supposed to be a good Democrat and support all the candidates along with my favorite. But....
I turned FAUX News on this morning just to see what they'd be showing from the debate last night. There was Lieberman, being interviewed, being shown as the frontrunner. They were oh so nice to him, smiling and joking, even agreeing with some of his points. Something is very very wrong with this picture.
I'm absolutely positive now that Lieberman has been chosen to win the nomination by the powers that be; I know others here feel the same way. We have to fight it, can't let it happen.

1. No way...
Please don't get my thinking going in that direction... it CAN'T BE TRUE. Joe has a small constituency, no message, bad image, and no speaking ability... the primaries and caucuses that select delegates will NOT select this guy. He will not be on the ticket, no way in hell... PLEASE!

2. The biggest problem I see with Lieberman....
He is basically saying "I support pretty much all of Bush's decisions" so where is the motivation to vote for him. If I supported Bush's policies, I would vote for Bush.

And maybe people need to be asking that question too. While all his little Faux friends are gushing over Lieberman and such, what they need to be asking the talking heads is whether or not they will actually vote for Lieberman over Bush. If they can't offer a resounding "yes", then all their flattery of Lieberman is suspect in my opinion because we all know that Faux News and the neocons are underhanded snakes.

3. The classic Jon Stewart line
Lieberman is the candidate for those who think Bush isn't Jewish enough. (I think that's how it went)

4. Here's what scares me

The Christian right and the conservative Jews have a common goal - paint Islam as an evil violent religion and make them the enemy. Judaism and Christianity depict the end of the world as being rescued by a savior - first time for the Jews, second time for the Christians. A huge battle in the middle east occurs wiping out all the "nonbelievers" and the kingdom of God on earth is created in Israel. The radicals of both religions are pushing for this. They want it to happen. Lieberman is a conservative radical Jew, a neocon plant to further the common goal. Listening to him bash Dean about not supporting Israel left no doubt in my mind. It's all about religion.

Disclaimer: I have nothing against Judaism or Christianity. What I do have is a deep hatred for the radicals of both religions, or any religion, for that matter.

5. we don't have to fight, it will never happen, he shoots himself in the
foot every chance he gets. His residual name-recognition poll numbers go down with every poll, and last night, with his "shrill" (in the words of the NY Times, which accurately describes it IMHO)attack on Dean, the man lost the LITTLE (and I mean LITTLE) bit of respect that I had for him. Did you see Buzzflash's headline on him today? It's great, check it out:

"Democrats Rip Bush in Second Debate. However, Lieberman Continues to Work to Destroy the Chances of the Democrats. Joe, Come Out of the Closet and Declare Yourself a Republican Already! 9/10"

Those are Buzz's words, not mine, but I couldn't have said it any better.

7. oh if he keeps up like this
he will. The man is an embarassment to himself and the Democratic party, and he is only further alienating the few people who accord him any respect whatsoever by so vehemently attacking other Dems. It just makes him look like the petty DINO whose day has come and gone that he is.

8. Politics is the art of the possible
Even the 'powers that be' cannot make Lieberman viable. Just an opinion.
