8. would that be a problem?
it's the fact that he's a freeper not that he's gay that's the problem.

9. No, the gay issue is also part of it. It points to the hypocrisy
and it's important. Not as important as the fact that the guy was a prostitute, but still important.

It also plays into rightwing fears on many levels.

10. the fact that he's gay
reads like it's being used as a means of attacking him. it's like reading one of the guys at 'god hates fags.'

the fact that he's a prostitute is important, the fact that he's a freeper is also.

but trumpeting that he's gay like it's something bad is not his problem but the poster's.

18. The point is Freepers are "law & order" types AND
rabid homophobes. A gay prostitute among them is double hypocrisy, and be mindful that it's the hypocrisy being slammed here, not the gayness. Pretty much nobody at DU gives a damn how Jeff Gannon likes to fuck, but at FR? There must be queer panic all over the damn place.

That he's gay matters not a whit to us.
It will most certainly matter to those who hung on his every word.

Does it need to be pointed out that Conservative Freeps' stance on Gay Rights/Gannon Affair is like Jim Baker and Swaggert found whoring when they were supposedly exemplar Xtian founts of purity.

Edited on Mon Feb-14-05 04:51 PM by ultraist
People, including Bush's homophobic voters, need to know the WHOLE story here.

We are not the homophobic party. We support gay rights, we are not saying being gay is bad. We are saying that is hypocritical for a homophobic admin hire a gay prostitute.

and start arguing as others have here that we should use the fact that he is gay as a way to demoralise the republican party's bigoted base. in other words, to pander to the same bigotry as the republicans. i think that's a big mistake if people go down that path.

7. He's not the only one. Right-wing values are great for gay prostitution.
Right-wing values are very good for gay male prostitution.

Think about it. If society every really had a healthy attitude about homosexuality, then all homosexuals would feel free to have healthy, loving, committed relationships, rather than paying someone who would "keep their secret".

Add in the nexus between the military fetish of some gays with right-wing militarism, and there it is.

Also, some of these guys LIKE the closet, they LIKE for it to be verboten. That makes it more of a thrill for them. Hence GannonGuckert's anti-gay diatribes.

Plame's Input Is Cited on Niger Mission (Joe Wilson lied about EVERYTHING)

The truth will set you free! I point you to the WashPo story from Dec 26, 2003 that says the CIA is upset with me for talking about a document they say is a forgery (when they are not denying that it exists) that details EXACTLY what the Senate Intel Committee says.

Plame got him the job and the White House didn't know they were sending him - otherwise they would have nixed it knowing that Wilson was anti-war.

The sweet taste of vindication

38. I almost never click on links from there...
but I couldn't resist... really, really disturbing.

"Do you think Tim Russert can now declare Dan Rather "largely discredited?" like he did the Swifties?"
---------------------------
"So why won't the DNC distance itself from Fahrenheight 9/11?" (I see that this "journalist" can't even spell the name of a movie that's on billboards.)
---------------------------

---------------------------
"Still the fact that:

"The rounds were tested and showed positive for Sarin gas. It has been determined that the rounds were left over from the Iran-Iraq war."

means that the are WMDs in Iraq.

DNA testing on Monica's blue dress told a story of what happened, not when. "
---------------------------
"Indeed it was. Thanks for asking.

I'm had it with my politically motivated colleagues." LMAO
---------------------------
about Scott McClellan:

"Not only do I look at him, I talk to him. The problem with Bush's staff is the media's portrayal of them. "

---------------------------
and the coup de grace:

"Scott does a good job. He is knowledgeable and stays on message - not an easy task under very hostile and agenda driven questioning by the DNC shills in the White House Press Corps.

His purpose isn't to provide soundbites, it's to provide information.

In an election year, the political soundbites should come from the RNC or the campaign."

LMFAO

I WAS a male prostiitue. Ohhh, it was bad--very VERY bad. I sinned plenty. Oh, boy did I SIN. But then I got saved. I found Jesus Christ in my heart. And He found me. So it's all okay now. You Christian conservatives can relax. Show's over--nothing to look at here.

are either on rathergate or wilsons wife. Do you think he could be the one that slipped the false documents to Rather as well as disseminated the info on Plame? He sure seems to be giving himself away, you can read the way he writes that he wants credit for breaking these stories since he has the heads up before the MSM does.

This is huge in my view. And the irony, the irony is delicious, but will it be swept under the rug?
