Tony Snow has Colon Cancer
he posted about it on FreeRepublic:

To: ladtx
You did, and the previous answer is correct: Bad news, good prognosis. Prayers appreciated, though.
Best,
Tony Snow

Yes, and he is talking about it now. Says his colon has to come out. Also said that he has had ulcerative colitis for 25 years.

12. I don't wish him well.
We're taught in this society to absolutely ignore the suffering of people of other colors all around the world, and to just watch TV, eat, sleep, and BUY BUY BUY.

So why the hell should I give a damn about some pasty-faced right-winger whose programs I never watch anyway?

I'm not going to gloat over it or wish any thing worse on him, but I really don't give a damn about his chateubriand-clogged colon, and if I'm going to send out any prayers, it will certainly be to the millions of much more deserving poor people of the world.

19. I'm not better than that.
I'm a flawed being, and I don't have enough love in my heart for evil, greedy, spoiled people.

I have limitless amounts for my wife and kids, and love and compassion for those who are poor and honest.

There is nothing left over for the likes of Tony Snow. He can go to the ATM, withdraw the millions he's gotten from Scaife and Murdoch, take it home and pile it atop his festering body. I'm sure all those greenbacks would be of much greater comfort to him than any words or prayers from some disgruntled liberal like myself.

23. I'm not kicking. I just don't care.
I'll bet he has great health insurance.

Not me.

I wouldn't even know it if I had colon cancer, and I might end up dead because of the likes of him, making sure that single payer never happens, AND goading on companies who are slashing their benefits packages like crazy.

So if he recovers, I won't care.

If he croaks, there will be another identical thug to take his place at the propaganda channel.

Ulcerative Colitis

Ulcerative colitis is a disease that causes inflammation and sores, called ulcers, in the lining of the large intestine. The inflammation usually occurs in the rectum and lower part of the colon, but it may affect the entire colon. Ulcerative colitis rarely affects the small intestine except for the end section, called the terminal ileum. Ulcerative colitis may also be called colitis or proctitis.

The inflammation makes the colon empty frequently, causing diarrhea. Ulcers form in places where the inflammation has killed the cells lining the colon; the ulcers bleed and produce pus. Ulcerative colitis is an inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), the general name for diseases that cause inflammation in the small intestine and colon. Ulcerative colitis can be difficult to diagnose because its symptoms are similar to other intestinal disorders and to another type of IBD called Crohn's disease. Crohn's disease differs from ulcerative colitis because it causes inflammation deeper within the intestinal wall. Also, Crohn's disease usually occurs in the small intestine, although it can also occur in the mouth, esophagus, stomach, duodenum, large intestine, appendix, and anus.

Ulcerative colitis may occur in people of any age, but most often it starts between ages 15 and 30, or less frequently between ages 50 and 70. Children and adolescents sometimes develop the disease. Ulcerative colitis affects men and women equally and appears to run in some families.

What causes ulcerative colitis?
Theories about what causes ulcerative colitis abound, but none have been proven. The most popular theory is that the body's immune system reacts to a virus or a bacterium by causing ongoing inflammation in the intestinal wall.

People with ulcerative colitis have abnormalities of the immune system, but doctors do not know whether these abnormalities are a cause or a result of the disease. Ulcerative colitis is not caused by emotional distress or sensitivity to certain foods or food products, but these factors may trigger symptoms in some people.<more>

20. Vaguely, Lee Atwater, uhmmm.....
<snip>

Harvey Leroy "Lee" Atwater (February 26, 1951 – March 29, 1991) was a United States Republican political consultant and strategist. Atwater was a trusted adviser of U.S. Presidents Richard Nixon, Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush. Atwater's skills at attack politics brought him and his candidates success. His opponents characterized him as "the Darth Vader of the Republican party", "the happy hatchet man", and "the guy who went negative for the sheer joy of it."

Atwater's aggressive tactics were evident in 1980, when he was a consultant for Republican candidate Floyd Spence in his campaign for Congress against Democratic nominee Tom Turnipseed. Atwater's tactics in that campaign included push polling in the form of fake surveys by "independent pollsters" to "inform" white suburbanites that Turnipseed was a member of the NAACP. He also sent out last-minute letters from Sen. Strom Thurmond (R-S.C.) telling voters that Turnipseed would disarm America and turn it over to liberals and Communists. At a press briefing, Atwater planted a "reporter" who rose and said, "We understand Turnipseed has had psychotic treatment." Atwater later told the reporters off the record that Turnipseed "got hooked up to jumper cables" - a reference to electroshock therapy that Turnipseed underwent as a teenager.

"Lee seemed to delight in making fun of a suicidal 16-year-old who was treated for depression with electroshock treatments," Turnipseed recalled. "In fact, my struggle with depression as a student was no secret. I had talked about it in a widely covered news conference as early as 1977, when I was in the South Carolina State Senate. Since then I have often shared with appropriate groups the full story of my recovery to responsible adulthood as a professional, political and civic leader, husband and father. Teenage depression and suicide are major problems in America, and I believe my life offers hope to young people who are suffering with a constant fear of the future." <1>

<snip>
In 1991, Atwater was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor. Shortly before his death he said he had converted to Catholicism and issued a number of public and written apologies to individuals he had unfairly attacked during his political career, including Dukakis. In a letter to Tom Turnipseed dated June 28, 1990, he stated, "It is very important to me that I let you know that out of everything that has happened in my career, one of the low points remains the so called 'jumper cable' episode," adding, "my illness has taught me something about the nature of humanity, love, brotherhood and relationships that I never understood, and probably never would have. So, from that standpoint, there is some truth and good in everything." <2>

Didn't Charles Colson of Nixon fame also make some dramatic spiritual conversion following his incarceration in federal prison for impeachable offenses? Maybe there still is hope for the BushCo crowd. I'd love to hear their confessions and amends from a federal prison cell.

...well have slithered his way into the bowels of the neo-conservative movements and continued his dirty deeds from the shadows. I don't ever wish to speak ill of the dead, I only know that psychic-change is a slow and often an emotional painful process evidenced only by actions and deeds of good to the injured.

48. Excuse Me, Sir Holier Than Thou!
Think Tony Snow has any empathy or sympathy about my MS? Think he ever cared about the hundreds of thousands who have had cancer? I didn't think so.

A person with his demeanor should not expect any sympathy from others when he never exhibits any himself. His is a miserable human being who never cares a whit about anyone but himself. He's a pathetic wretch and if you have no concern about others, what goes around comes around.

Taking joy in anyone's illness is a sign of a twisted mind.

51. You're Quite A Piece Of Work
I never said a word about Snow. AI'm not relishing in his illness. All i said is that he should not expect sympathy from strangers when he never exhibited any. And if you are naive enough to believe his on-air persona is any different than his real personality, than you are displaying ignorance and stupidity.

THAT disgusts me! Especially when it comes from a pompous ass that supports their own holier than thou attitude to by telling me that i'm disgusting. Of course, that required you to attribute to me things i didn't express. But, don't let that stop you from continuing to be a pompous ass. Facts seldom get in the way of misplace moral superiority.

And, you didn't answer a single one of my questions. Not one! What's the matter, too hard? I have MS. Think i take joy in another's illness? You are quite the jerk, since i didn't say that.

I'm glad your mom is hanging in there. I wish her well.

Dad was only 62 when diagnosed, and the cancer was very advanced. Chemo was not possible, and he lived two very, very tough years before succumbing. It's a cruel, dehumanizing illness.

Everyone who has this in their family should get "scoped" if they can possibly afford it. Early detection can save lives!
