I am such a creampuff. Scott M gets up and lies every day - and I feel guilty that he may want to loose his job.

while lil Scottie is just a schmuck who lies every day and isn't good at it at all. He can be replaced without nearly as much neocon angst. Maybe next time they can find someone who is a better liar.

28. The "Tweety" Threshold
So far not a word about this latest "revelation" on CNNservative...or any "Gannon" story for that matter. They consider this just some "blog war".

We'll know this is getting some "legs" if Tweety hits this thing. Remember, he's somehow tied up in the Plame outting as one of the "journalists" contacted. We can assume "Gannon" was the one who took the call.

This scandal burns to close to the bird cage. But it's also the stuff this guy lives for...lots of personal dirt and sleeze. Which way will he go? Will he ignore it, or will the moth be drawn to the flame?

They may speed Scottys resignation up if the potential evidence trail to higher levels looks threatening enough and is picked up by the corporate media. So far, Blitzer's efforts at damage control haven't been very successful. Scotty would be asked to take the fall to keep any investigation from reaching those higher levels of the administration, maybe even the blivet** himself. Pressure will be brought to stifle any investigation past their chosen fall guy.

There were high levels involved in the 1989 male prostitution spy ring in the Bush I White House, too, and that investigation also was not allowed to proceed to the ends of the evidence trails.
http://sf.indymedia.org/news/2003/02/1570946.php

edited to add: The homosexual prostitution angle is significant because of the security risk angle and the possible blackmail angle. But we can't lose sight of the BIG questions: WHO allowed "Gannon" access to top secret Plame info? WHO arranged for security clearance to be waived for him? And WHO arranged for this paid shill with fake credentials to be given precedence in questioning periods along with planted questions for him to ask?

Little Scottie could NOT have done all of that.

46. Is it coincidental that gay prostitution rings have been associated
in some way with both Bush administrations?

It just seems too obscure and bizarre.

Incidentally, you ask excellent questions at the end. The use of the passive voice in the Hoyers article drove me crazy. "He was given access". Who gave him access? Whoever it is, they must be pretty desperate by now, realizing that they've committed a federal offense that essentially guarantees prison time.

Furthermore, nobody has said yet when he saw this top-secret information. Was it before the Novak column? Was he one of the journalists who had been informed along with Novak?

he was there BEFORE Scotty was in charge and if that pass is a hard pass that means the Secret Service could be willingly or unwillingly complicit. And from there you have a circular firing squad which they are trying to not let form right now...

A financial review of how did Jeff get paid and nagging questions remain whether Dina Powell exerted any influence...
