XXXXX DRUDGE REPORT XXXXX MON FEB 14, 2005 16:07:09 ET XXXXX

OSCAR HOST CHRIS ROCK SHOCK: ABORTION IN AMERICA IS 'BEAUTIFUL'

Shock Oscar host Chris Rock recently declared that abortion in the United States is a "beautiful thing!"

"Abortion, it's beautiful, it's beautiful abortion is legal. I love going to an abortion rally to pick up women, cause you know they are f**king," Rock said during his club routine.

Veteran members of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences have grown concerned over the choice of Chris Rock to represent the Academy before a worldwide audience, well-placed insiders claim.

"This is not who we are," said one top source from Los Angeles.

ROCK'S 35 F-WORDS A MINUTE

Oscar Telecast Producer Gil Cates has tapped Rock to pump up the ratings, but not all member are convinced the controversial Rock will entertain and inspire the audience.

During a recent rant, Rock blasted heartland Americans.

"Weird white guys getting overly patriotic, with their f**king flag hats on," Rock said.

"I am not scared of al Qaeda, I am scare of f**king al Cracker."

One audio recording captures Rock firing off more than 35 F-words per minute!

In the past few weeks, Rock has directed his attention at the Academy awards.

In an interview with ENTERTIANMENT
(sic) WEEKLY, Rock claimed: "I never watched the Oscars. Come on, it's a fashion show. What straight black man sits there and watches the Oscars? Show me one!"

Rock added: "Awards for art are f---ing idiotic."

Producer Gil Cates said in a press release late Monday:

"Chris's comments over the past few weeks are meant to be humorous digs at a show that some people, obviously including Chris himself, think may be a bit too stuffy."

Rock late Monday said the comments were taken out of context.

Developing...

Man, Scaife must have paid Sludge a BUNDLE to keep up this idiotic attack on Rock.

Notice the deceptive headline compared to what Rock ACTUALLY said about abortion?

Mr. Sludge, Satan has his hottest fires all stoked up and ready for you and your little boyfriends Guckert and Coulter. There's still time to repent and stop being a habitual liar.

3. Recently???
All the non-award show digs are from his HBO show which premiered April 2004.

Also the context of the abortion joke was much more about loose women than any endorsement or even discussion of abortion itself.

13. Same here....
I knew it the second I read it. Now I sometimes wince when comedians do their material on stuff like Politcally Incorrect(Bill, I'm looking at you) or during interviews especially when I've already heard it many times, but that doesn;t seem to be the case here.

Instead its stuff lifted from his show.

Next Drudge updates:

George Carlin issues profane statement on profanity!

Jerry Seinfeld has issues with the Ariline Industry!

Jay Leno likes jokes about OJ!

Chris Rock is the funniest guy doing standup in the country right now.

12. They really are going after the comedians - aren't they
Apparently people are aloud to congregate every week and talk about whether or not people they do not know should get married, and that is fine. But you cannot congregate to enjoy the humor of someone who looks at the world like you do. Not under this White House.

Boy oh boy are they going after the Oscars. Because they know a billion people will be watching (except for red state men who are afraid of being accused of being gay) - and the best jokes of the year will be made. At their expense. It is always the way.

They really are going after the comedians. Why? Because comedians like nobody else will 'punch through' at the truth. Comedians know the emotional value of words (thus the humour). They are the next big threat to the WH. Because Red State folk may learn some truths by watching a comedian at the Osacars.

They have the media intimidated and afraid ... now they have to go after the comedians.

15. First RW billboards near Kodak Theater and now this
What do these nutjobs have against having a few laughs? People like Chris Rock because he's FUNNY and as long as they'll plunk down their Big Yankee Bucks for his CDs and go to his shows, you're going to see people like him hosting the Oscars, because THIS IS STILL AMERICA, DAMN IT! Have they forgotten about the "magic of the marketplace"? If people were really that offended by our popular culture it wouldn't be ... POPULAR!

18. They trounsed their opposition in the Press & Dems the first term -
Now they try to silence the comedians. They always have to have an enemy. To keep their little creepers busy putting up signs and trying to intimidate.

It is like they have to bad-talk Chris Rock and 'reframe' him and they only have a month to do it.

I saw a documentary on Hollywood coverage of the Nazi regime. The government shut up the studios - because they didn't want into a War with Hitler. It was left to Charlie Chaplain to make the movie 'The Great Dictator'. Charlie was the second most famous person in the world at that point - after Hitler. Charlie had his own money and his own studio. It is the comedians and their 'smarts' with the emotional value of words & who punch through to the truth who are the biggest threat to the propaganda machine.

31. The Studio heads weren't chickenshit - the government of the USA
was. They didn't want to go up against Hitler. They didn't want to deal with their own predjudice. Hitler intimidated everyone and made them all afraid of facing their worst fears (Roosevelt’s would be to have a war on top of depression). Chaplain, a comedian, was used to punching through the bullshit. Felt they couldn't hurt him.

A beautiful sequence of Chaplain, as the Hitler character, dancing around a room with a ball of the world (a blow up globe). He seemed to be almost doing a burlesque ball dance & playing on the theme of 'world dominance'. I wish I could get a clip of that scene and play it here. Anything else in that documentary would be too much. Especially in this day & age.
