HOUSTON -- A 16-year-old boy was charged with shooting his father in their Harris County, Texas, home Friday.

The shooting was originally reported as a case of domestic abuse, but deputies said the boy apparently witnessed a sexual act between his parents and thought the father was abusing the mother.

Sheriff's deputies charged the boy with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a first-degree felony.

Detectives said the mother and father were engaged in consensual sex when the shooting occurred at about 3:30 a.m. inside the family's home. Investigators said the couple's 11-year-old son woke up to his mother making loud noises.

In all seriousness though...I was in an abusive relationship once and I can tell you all from experience that even abused spouses can have intense, pleasurable sex. It's not always bad and IMHO that's one of the things that can keep you in an abusive situation, because many times our minds can mistake sex for love.
It's hard not to judge these people because of past history, but personally I would rather it say in the papers that I was beaten than to say that I was having kinky, loud sex--especially in the Bible belt. After all--my Mom reads the paper,lol.

First, if you're so loud during sex that you wake the whole house, maybe you should learn to be a little quieter while the kids are at home.

Fourth, if locking the door doesn't work and the kids come in -- stop what you're doing. If you're so carried away that you don't know when the kids come in until one of them shoots you, well, that's just messed up, and I don't know what to say.

Addendum: if the parents are lying and the husband was really abusing the wife and they lied and said it was sex, that is totally messed up.

That's typical for the family members to lie and cover it up. I don't believe a 16 yo would make this mistake. The 11 yo thought it was abuse too, but mom and dad got a hold of them and told them to keep that a secret or something really bad would happen.

Those kids knew what was happening, their mother was being raped.
