Any doctors in the house? PLEASE
I have serious sinus pain on the right side of my head above my ear and the pain includes my ear. Every 20 seconds or so its like a lighting bolt grabs the nerves and just squeezes.

I am on antibiotics for the sinus infection, but what the hell can I do for my head? I am about to go crazy from the constant wave of pain????

1. GEEEZZZZZZZZZZZE!
Go to the closest emergency room now! No one can diagnose that kind of pain u describe on line...and yes, it could be very serious..get some help from someone who can see you and diagnose your problem.

20. Call your doc's answering service NOW
He may be able to prescribe something to get you through the night so that you can go in first thing tomorrow morning.

There are a lot of important things living in there. You really do need to be seen.

13. Look, the problem is you are asking
a bunch of nondoctors for medical advise. If someone gives you some advice you try and it turns out to be really bad DU could be libel for the consequences. Not only could you get hurt but this community could be severely effected.

Go get help. Really.

I know enough to realize good advice from bad and I also would not sue DU.

23. You wouldn't
But that doesn't mean that if something should go horribly wrong others wouldn't.

Trust me when I say those of us telling you to go get help mean it in the most friendly way. Its really what you should do. You say you can't afford it. But you really can't afford the alternative.

17. Yes I know
But medicine is not something to mess around with. If he is in trouble he really needs to get real help. If we advise him and it turns out to be really bad advice then DU is libel. Law suits. Worse.

As much as we would like to help the single best advice we can give is to go get help.

no one is pretending to be a doc. I sure as hell am not but I am a working poor person and understand totally how it is when something hurts and you can't get care. I am lucky now because my gig has incurance but shit, I have treated myself in the past with fucking animal antibiotics because I could not keep my family fed AND make it to the doctor.

Not on your case, either. Just kinda empathizing with the poster. Been there and it sucks. Big.

22. Has it spread to your ear? Ear ache?
If so an ER doc can prescribe ear drops for the pain. It's 7:24 here on west coast. Can you call an urgent care facility? Or is it too late where you live?

Please go seek medical help off the board. Even the most well intentioned medical advice given by a fellow DU poster can be potentially harmful.

28. here's a GREAT thread about sinus rinses, which saved me...

I had a horrible painful sinus infection, went on five different kinds of antibiotics over 4 months, just got sicker and sicker, more and more painful...until a sinus-nurse friend of mine told me about these sinus rinses....really helped and healed me back to health, with rinsing every time I feel a cold coming on...I have AVOIDED colds, bloody noses, etc. for more than 4 years now....
