Are we more optimistic, or have the pessimists merely left?

Sure, we were stinging from the loss last November, and there was a lot of anger being expressed in a multitude of ways. But is it just me, or did we have a lot more pessimism a few months ago? And seeing that nothing much has changed (election fraud challenges didn't amount to anything, Bush began the sequel-term and has done much of what we expected), one might think we have more reason now to be pessimistic than before.

The recent posts (at least the ones I've read) seem to be more optimistic about the future. Are we really more optimistic, or have those pessimistic voices simply tuned themselves out? Personally, I still have up and down days; sometimes I'm ready to throw in the towel, and at other times hope is alive and well. Just wondering if anyone else noticed anything like this.

2. expect the best but prepare for the worst

you're never blindsided that way...and sometimes you get a pleasant surprise.

the exception being Bush (any "neo-con", really)...always....but always...expect the worst and prepare for it...cause it's coming.
