is "The Voice of the White House" entirely fiction? . . .
could very well be . . . based on the info on this thread . . .

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=104x3104297

I did a little digging on Google and found some interesting info about Walter Storch, the webmaster and apparently chief writer of TBRNews . . . in a footnote on this page . . .

http://www.cia.gov/csi/studies/vol48no1/article10.html

I found this . . .

Gregory Douglas, Gestapo Chief: The 1948 Interrogation of Heinrich Müller (San Jose, CA: James Bender, 1995, 1997), 3 vols. Douglas has used the pseudonyms Peter Stahl and Walter Storch on the Internet. He claims a former CIA officer is one of his sources, a claim that officer has denied to me. The documentary evidence he purports to have remains his secret. Those facsimile documents he includes in his books are said by experts to be of his own making and cannot be found in the National Archives. Whatever happened to Müller, the one certainty is that he never came to America.

so I searched Peter Stahl and found this . . .

searching Gregory Douglas yielded this . . .

Ever heard the name Gregory Douglas? He´s an author - counterfeiter, really - working on the margins of revisionist history. It doesn´t appear his name is genuine, either.

To quote David Irving, Douglas "is the classic Muenchhausen Syndrome type, seeking to attract attention to himself - using names like ´Freiherr von Mollendorf,´ and generally living the life of a suave spy, adventurer, and sophisticate."

Other pseudonyms cited by Iriving include "Samuel Prescott Bush," "Christopher Crowles," "Bob Sonderby," "Peter Stahl" and "A. Zackery Mehlis."

Irving continues:

He operates under many pseudonyms, but from a police file I saw some years back his real name seems to be Norwood Burch, born March 22, 1930. He reportedly acquired his alias through association with the former "B" movie director Roger Steele in Los Angeles in the 1970s. When he signed onto the Prodigy internet service in 1994 he certainly used a credit card owned by the name "Burch"."

and from the Southern Poverty Law Center . . .

http://www.splcenter.org/intel/intelreport/article.jsp?aid=32

And then there was one "Gregory Douglas," with his top-secret German document proving conclusively the Bush Administration and Israel knew about and likely orchestrated the attacks.

"Israel is always involved in everything!" he said.

That certainly got the attention of the attendees. Except, as a sheepish Bill White noted on his "libertarian socialist" Web site later (White had initially hailed the document as revelatory), it turns out that Douglas is an accused forger.

Veteran European journalist Gitta Sereny has written that Douglas forged a document that he told her was proof that the Americans and British had helped two Nazi war criminals escape Europe in 1945. Douglas' later book on one of them, Gestapo boss Heinrich Muller, was, she wrote, "filth" that was as "fake" as the earlier document.

seems Mr. Storch/Stahl/Douglas/Burch is not only not a trustworthy source, but something of a neo-Nazi scam artist . . .

1. I've never heard of TBR news.
Is it a real news source?

3. I am as inclined to think "disinformation" as (purely) fiction.

(As regards The Voice of the White House.)

If it is (intended as) disinformation, then there might be a glimmer of truth in there somewhere. But there would appear to be a considerable amount of (appealing at times) fiction.

I trust The Voice not at all. And this alone calls the entire site into question.

In any event, it is good practise not to put too much confidence in anything that you don't have extensive (first hand, if possible) knowledge of.

...

Disinformation is the artform of conveying "information" that is made to appear true (and believable), even though it is not true (or at least not entirely true). Typically, one would mix (perhaps) a little truth (ideally, artfully distorted so as to minimize its usefulness), some dangerous, or at least useless, half-truths, various distortions and exaggerations, along with whole fiction to make one's disinformation brew. And there are various objectives in using disinformation: making people believe things that are untrue; making people think or act a certain way; distorting people's perspective or understanding; confusing people; making opponents look stupid, radical or inept; taking people's money; and etc.

Combined with a few "packaging" techniques that play to people's (the target audience) weaknesses, disinformation (as a form of psy-war) can be very powerful. -- And it can also "play" to people who are immune to the more obvious forms of propaganda.

It is most important, when one's opponents try to reach into one's head in order to manipulate (one), that there is nothing for these opponents to get a firm grasp upon. -- Now, I'm not saying that it's easy -- just that it's necessary.

...

But I know basically nothing about the site.

4. I read it from time to time
I've found some of his "prophesies" fail to pan out while others may be just common sense assumptions.

I always enjoyed the occasional visit though, and held hope that some level of dissent was being expressed from within White House.

I kind of figured that if it WAS legit, this government has a number of agencies that could convince the webmaster to divulge the author regardless of the Bill Of Rights.

Thanks to your comprehensive research I've reduced the count of salt grains with which to judge future entries by him considerably.

5. Irving is a discredited revisionist-holocaust denier. I would not
take anything he says as the truth. I don't always take noms de plume as an indicator of deceitfulness.

I read the TBRNews.org website regularly, and have had some correspondence with Walter Storch, whoever he is, about some of the articles, including "Voice."

I questioned him about his views of Jews and the Holocaust. He dislikes the current Israeli regime intensely, and views many actions occurring during the founding of Israel as reprehensible.

He believes that many, many Jews died in the camps principally because of appalling conditions. He also thinks that close to a million died at the hands of the Nazis and their local helpers in the Soviet Union and elsewhere. He thinks that gas was used in the vans and in some of the camps, like Treblinka. He views the Nazi activity with respect to Jews and others as completely reprehensible.

Where he really parts ways with the consensus conclusion is that he thinks that Auschwitz was a work camp and not a death camp, a view with which I strongly disagree. His disagreement stems from some Nazi records of the number of people embarking for Auschwitz that show many fewer people transported to Auschwitz than are currently estimated to have died there. He discredits eyewitness accounts, but he wrote that he would be happy to change his opinion if contemporary specific documentation could be found.

I would characterize his overall position as believing that the Nazis committed terrible crimes against the Jews, although he believes fewer died that the consensus views. In this, he differs from the Holocaust-denying revisionists, and I think that Irving's hatred of him may in part stem from differing views on this topic.

I recommend that those interested check out his website. While it is impossible to determine whether the contents without attribution are true or not, he often presents fascinating stories. The Meuller diaries is actually serialized in fairly recent editions, and presents excellent fiction if nothing else.
