9. umm...
idk if you heard right...pat robertson acknowledged that CREATION (ya know, the beginning of the world in religious terms?) SHOULDN'T BE TAUGHT IN SCHOOLS.

he's siding with us. or at least, not siding with the repubs. they must have really pissed him off.

i think this is amazing. we've got allies! and honestly, they're allies i never thought we'd have. maybe bush truly is a uniter: he unites everyone against him!

What he is doing is basically saying what 90% of Christians in the freaking country think.

Most Christians don't want "God created the heavens and the earth" taught in the school system.

The simple answer to that is the fact that that's what "Sunday School and Bible Teaching" are for.

Where in the world do people get the belief from that Christians want the school system to be "Bible Study"?

23. ok, fair enough.
call that a misstatement.

i think that people tend to get that belief (that christians want the school system to be bible study) from the biggest and loudest (radio hosts, or "religious leaders"?)...unless the 90 % of christians who don't can get on the radio and tv and internet and outshout the radio jocks, people are probably gonna continue to form opinions based on the shouters.

sad, but true.

22. Of course he believes in "Intelligent Design"
God created the heavens and the earth is where that belief comes from.

Most Christians don't want that taught in the school system. "Church" is where that is taught.

7. No proof that there is
a God either. It's all faith but they insist that it be included in the pledge etc. They want it both ways.

13. Throughout history whenever the "state" has gotten intertwined
in religious affairs, religion inevitably ends up corrupted and discredited. Maybe Robertson is getting wise to the fact that he has been consorting with dogs, and now has fleas.

As a religious person myself, I favor strict separation of church and state because of the damage both institutions will eventually suffer.

14. There is a new attack under way I would presume
They are giving up on battling through the courts and are now ready to begin an assault on the Judiciary system all together. I think they believe they have enough votes to weaken the Judiciary and begin rewriting the Constitution.

16. I found out something when I watched the special,
"With God on Their Side." It was on Sundance Channel; I'm reading the book of the same name now.

I guess there was bad blood between the Booooshies and Robertson, at least at one time, because he was ahead of Sr. in the Republican primaries in the 80's (88?). So, magically, the 'PTL' scandal came about, and/or the 'Swaggert' scandal, and all of a sudden, religious broadcasters' names were mud. Quite a coincidence, huh? And Boooosh Sr. surged ahead.

Things that make you go "Hmmmmm....."!
