Senator Durbin on Social Security |
He was just interviewed on Bloomberg News. What a delightful person. Missed the very beginning but the reporter was asking him what the Democrats intend to do about 'the problem'. He said that throughout the history of the program Democrats have been willing to make changes when needed but the ball is in the President's court. They won the coin toss on Nov 2nd so let them come up with some alternative to privitization. Durbin wants a bipartisan commission. So far he said the Bush people are selling T-shirts to promote their plan so it doesn't look like they want anything else.

1. But why does he he refer to "the Bush Plan"? |
There is no published "plan". There is no plan! It's just all "sky is falling".

2. That was part of what he wants |
the plan. He wants it explained, instead they sell t-shirts.

I just get annoyed when Dems and the Press refer to "the Bush Social Security Plan" when no Plan has been published.
