Dennis Miller- dumb
I saw Dennis Miller say "Why don't we teach a few of the major religions in school"? Someone had to tell him it is against the constitution. He is without a doubt a complete dunce. I wish McEnroe was still on at least he is smart and had really good music on.

1. I used to like Dennis Miller
Even with the unnecessarily blue material, he used to be funny. But now he's traded profanity for obscenity, and it just isn't funny anymore.

3. Actually, a survey of religions is NOT unconstitutional...
It's when one religion is PROMOTED over another that is unconstitutional.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with discussing Islam, Buddhism, Judaism, Hindu, Christianity, etc. in the context of a World Cultures class, for instance. In fact, any discussion of world cultures WITHOUT examining religious influence would be a complete waste of time.

11. I think a world cultures class should be a requirement,
for all students (high school level). Until we can understand the other religions of the world, we will never be able to understand other societies.

12. I remember learning about Zoroastrianism in English class.
It was fascinating.

I think I would be firmly behind teaching an appreciation for world religions. Learning something about Islam would help a few people I know.

21. Freeps would not allow it.
Anything but pure Christianity would not be allowed. Miller is too urban to know that.

4. I agree. I liked McEnroe's show
Dennis Miller was never funny, I used to feel sorry for him until he started his latest shtick. He has that phony self confidence and tries to make it seem like being conservative is "hip". What a con-artist.

5. I've never been a fan of Miller.
Anyone who tries so hard to sound intelligent - probably isn't. But he has convinced himself and his stupid listeners that he is some kind of genius. He is a despicable cretin with no principles. In other words, a perfect republican.

where they ruled today it was just fine to take 1st to 3rd graders out of class, put them on a bus to a church for several hours a day to learn the bible, then ship them back to class.

10. Oh, that's what the fundies want. More than one religion taught.
Yeah, Pat Robertson just went on the 700 Club and asked why Islam and Judaism weren't offerred in Sparta South Carolina high schools.

14. A true comparative religion class would include more than ....
"a few of the major religions". And "teach" is not the same as "study."

Besides, some of the material in any survey course would drive the fundamentalists nuts. They believe what they believe because it's in the Bible. No discussion.

Some years ago at work, one of our Catholic employees asked a Muslim about some details of their religion. They began a civilized, respectful discussion, comparing & contrasting various elements of their respective faiths. A third guy chimed in--"But that's all wrong!"

I never liked Dennis Miller.

17. Miller is a lunatic
I actually liked his HBO shows back when I had cable...He snapped...or got de$perate, and turned into a cartoon character...the neo-Archy Bunker. Fuck him...I hate that piece of shit, faux-retarded, angry, bearded man-child.

religions in history class.

If Dennis Miller meant that public school teachers should tell students to believe in Jesus, that would violate the Constitution.

23. A few months back, a local radio interviewer asked Dennis...
if he was a registered Republican. He indicated that he was an independent.

The interviewer followed up by asking Dennis how he felt about being left out of the loop on partisan primaries. Dennis didn't understand the question.

In other words, apparently, Dennis Miller has never even voted.

You're hired!
