According to Aravosis, the Dems are caving on Gannon...
Edited on Tue Feb-15-05 09:01 PM by senseandsensibility
John Aravosis says that the Dems in the Senate are BACKING AWAY from an investigation into Gannon/Geckert!! Why? Is it because there is now proof that this individual had no access to highly confidential Plame memos? Is it because the administration has come clean about how Gannon'Geckert was hired? Has someone fallen on their sword and explained the whole fiasco?

Well, nooo...not exactly. It seems that the Dems are "cooling" to the idea because "Gannon" is now a known prostitute. Yes, you read correctly. Wouldn't want to dirty their hands with such things, you know.

1. Are they afraid of losing the
prostitute vote? Are they implicated? Seems that they don't remember what was done to President Clinton. Personally I don't care what he does in his spare time but the Repukes campaigned on 'morality' and this is a prime example of their hypocrisy.

2. Sometimes
I wonder if the Dem party is really just there to keep the people from creating a progressive party fo their own. Whenever something comes along that they could really bust the GOP with they let it slide. Pathetic.

3. Don't let them fool you or suck you in...it's because of this...

SEX AND THE CAPITAL

KARLYN BARKER, WASHINGTON POST, JULY 24, 1990: The alleged leader of what authorities have called the largest male prostitution operation in the Washington area surrendered to federal agents yesterday and pleaded not guilty to racketeering charges that have been filed against him and three alleged accomplices. Henry W. Vinson, 29, of Williamson, W.Va., a coal miner's son accused of setting up the homosexual escort service, was arraigned in U.S. District Court here yesterday afternoon after turning himself in to Secret Service agents . . . At a news conference after the arraignment, Stephens said the investigation into the alleged prostitution ring "is concluded" and that the indictment, which was unsealed yesterday, focused on those who allegedly set up the ring rather than on clients who reportedly patronized it. Asked about earlier reports that some of those clients included high-level officials in the Reagan and Bush administrations, Stephens said the investigation had not revealed "additional conduct which suggests criminal conduct on behalf of other people." . . . The Vinson case provoked additional notice after The Washington Times published reports last summer suggesting that the alleged prostitution ring had been patronized by government officials. The Times named as clients several low-level government employees and Craig J. Spence, a Washington lobbyist and party-giver who, the paper said, took friends and prostitutes on late-night tours of the White House. Spence was found dead in a Boston hotel room last fall, and authorities ruled his death a suicide . . . To date, however, investigators have disclosed no evidence linking any high-level government official to the escort service.

4. The ONLY REASON for Dems to not pursue the truth behind Gannon/Guckert
is if it leads to implicating any of the Democratic leaders and elected officials in the Democratic Party.

This is the only reason in my opinion....As far as I'm concerned, I don't care if it did! PURGE the entire Senate, House and Washington DC of anybody, regardless of party that is in any way associated with Prostitution rings etc.

We can't back down on this...I say contact the media and representatives daily if we have too....

The TRUTH lies behind this story....to not pursue this is to deny the Truth....

5. Maybe they don't want to screw up
the Plame investigation that Fitzgerald is conducting. He can now question Miller and the other reporter.

8. I'm not saying you're wrong
(I'm hardly an expert on this), but it seems from the link I posted that the Dems WERE interested in filing a complaint until John uncovered, so to speak, the fact that "Gannon" is really a prostitute. They weren't worried about Fitzgerald's case then, and the Plame memo was already tied to this creep. Or am I missing something?

17. Good Point! Maybe they are just "waiting" for all the info on this story
to be investigated and then pounce on it....

That, would be smart....Okay, I'll wait to see....

11. Republican?
If you're serious, you're a lot less cynical than I am. Could such a thing happen? I really, honestly, can't imagine that happening in a million years. As for the other groups, I hope so, but haven't heard anything.

12. We need the Pope and the Vatican to investigate the White House
and "get to the bottom" of this. I have heard that they have impeccable celibacy credentials, and they have a leader who is infallible. Surely they can come to our rescue.

What's that about pedophilia and massive cover ups? Oh, I see, excuse me.

Forget the whole thing. i'm so embarassed.

(None of the ideas expressed above are actually mine. They are channeled to me by Luther and Maximoto, the space aliens who live under my bed. In return for these ideas, I have given them permission to eat any dust bunnies they may find under there.)

15. lol. maybe a more secular review with the captains of industry:
Jack Welch: Oops, that affair with Harvard Business Review editor...
Ken Lay: Shocked, I tell you, memo from S. Watkins, notwithstanding
Carly Fiorina: just throw up your hands for meaningless mergers

oh just nevermind... Where is a Dem that really understands the meaning of restoring honor and dignity to the White House...

13. I feel so frustrated
I really thought the Democrats would be getting their act together, but they are so concerned about what people will think that they even run from gifts. Oh well, I guess we get what we take.

14. Yes
all the work was done for them, and there are serious issues involved. The Dems are too squeamish to fight dirty, but that's all this "administration" understands.

Edited on Wed Feb-16-05 02:11 AM by Beam Me Up
as the Republicans? The WH and Senate and Congress and Judiciary and every branch of our nation is so infected and infested with crime and corruption there are damn few who havn't been touched by it. That's how the cabal maintains control--they can out anyone at any time. Who's going to throw the first stone?

20. I get it
Trust me, I get it. I'm not a "yellow dog", and if a Dem is corrupt then he should get kicked the hell to the curb, I don't care if he's the most virulent anti-repub on the planet.

I might get flamed for this, but I admire individuals and damn few of those. More and more it seems the political parties are "same shit, different piles". We like to think our party members are rebels/visionaries/championsofthecommonman, but the truth is that the system is so corrupt that you have to be corrupt YOURSELF to infiltrate it to any significant degree.

Anyway, whether you think prostitution should be illegal or not (I don't) the fact remains that it IS illegal.

They. Let. A. Criminal. Into. The. White. House.

I'm going to keep repeating that until it takes. Not only that, but internet based-crime is automatically a FEDERAL offense because by design it reaches across state and national lines.

Felons can't vote, so why the hell are they allowed to ask questions of the White House on television? Why the hell are they allowed access to priveledged information? Why the hell are they fondly called "Jeff" when that's not their real name and a blind monkey could figure that out.

Hell, I'm not squeaky clean. I'VE paid for sex twice, and I broke the law while doing it. I know that.

But then again, I'm not leading the country. I wouldn't WANT someone like me leading the country because I'm an idiot. Therein lies the difference.

21. Just found your reply, Nimrod.
I don't worry about people who fess up to their own shortcomings--which we all have--but what do you do with a bunch of arrogant asses who actually believe they have the right to murder wantonly and plunder the wealth of nations for their own purulent pleasures? Hey, they ARE getting away with it!

As for your intelligence, I wouldn't know. However, you'd have to be at about the level of a maggot to be lower than the scum sucks that currently inhabit the White House.
