Brit Hume should resign?
FDR's grandson on KO tonight said Hume's report that FDR supported Bush's plan for private SS accounts was so dishonest he (Hume) should resign.

I agree. (Hume cobbled together some sentances from FDR quotes so as to make it seem he said something he did not say. Hume made his "case" by taking quotes out of context and changing the order of sentences. FDR's grandson was outraged.)

Hume should go the way of Rather. This is how the right beats us. They make stuff off (FRD supports Bush's plan for SS), it gets reported like truth and soon people around the water cooler are saying "Bush is just carrying out FDR's plan." We need to at least try to stop the lie now before people start believing it.

Fox should be required to tell the truth.

Hume should resign.

1. He won't though. He should have resigned a long time ago.
He said something a while back like relatives of soldiers killed in Iraq should "get over it" or something like that.

2. Contact Hume at his email Fox address
I did. I asked why he chose to deceive the American people.

3. I agree!
Kick his ass!

The Freepers were mocking us about the Gannon thing, like, "we got Rather and Jordan, and they got this nobody."

Trying to invoke FDR to implode Social Security should be treason. How ridiculous are we going to allow these people to be?

4. They Should Be Required...
to tell the truth, but they are not. Hell, I think they(Faux)even won a court case that says they don't have to.

5. Thats right. They have court rulings that say
that they are free to distort and twist the news, and even report outright lies. Its all "freedom of speech"

6. From Olbermann's Bloggermann yesterday:
But look at how Hume mixed and matched the original Roosevelt quotes on February 4th (and we’re quoting this verbatim from Fox’s website) “…it turns out that FDR himself planned to include private investment accounts in the Social Security program when he proposed it. In a written statement to Congress in 1935, Roosevelt said that any Social Security plans should include, ‘Voluntary contributory annuities, by which individual initiative can increase the annual amounts received in old age,’ adding that government funding, ‘ought to ultimately be supplanted by self-supporting annuity plans.’”

Roosevelt said no such thing. The “voluntary contributory annuities” are the IRA’s and Keoghs and 401k’s. What “ought to ultimately be supplanted” was the special government contributions to Social Security on behalf of people born in the 1870’s and earlier, and the “self-supporting annuity plans” constitute Social Security itself.

It’s premeditated, historical fraud, but you will not see Hume nor Fox News backpedal from it (as Jordan did for his misdemeanor), nor apologize for it (as Jordan did), nor save their masters from its shame (as Jordan did — of course there is no shame at Fox).

9. Faux News is only viewed by the feeble minded
They could just swing this Bible up there 10 minutes a day and they would have the intellectually challenged Bushies there and addicted.

18. The feeble minded out rank us
Look, Faux News has all the Freepers and most of the moderates. I have a story to tell about them - no insider, just how I watched them go from scrappy to crappy - in any case, they brainwashed their viewers. Period. I know it, I saw it and I'm trained to do so.
The point being, they have more viewers.
We need to unite behind on person. Or network or show or something and outrank them.
I vote for KO, but I'm biased.
Of course, I'm biased because he's not.
We have to rank something or no one, none of the bean counters, are gonna care what the hell we think.
We need to brainstorm about this one. But I need to go to bed.

10. I guess no Dems in Congress watch Fux News.
Can't blame them if not, however has this false statement by Hume gotten around so any of them have heard about it? We don't know and polly won't.
Problem is that we don't have any real high profile spokespersons with courage to call out the liars on Fux and CNN.

17. Like anyone of the would give a crap!
Nice suggestion, but it's wishful thinking. I believe that if one ignores something or someone long enough, they'll go away. Everyone, and I mean every guest invited on their shows merely used as tools to up their own agenda should stop and turn-down the offers.

With no one left to debate their right-wing bull-crap, whom left will they have to opine with! Think about it.

When I think of Fox I want to :puke:

14. Not really ...

Brit Hume's job is to smear the news Pat Robertson style on a daily basis. He's doing his job as expected.

The ONLY problem is calling Hume a journalist as opposed to a pundit, and/or HACK!!!!

15. Fox - tell the truth... you're kidding, right!
I absolutely love and admire our one-time great President Franklin D. Roosevelt and his first lady, Eleanor for the wonderful gifts they bestowed upon our country. And admire still more his grandson. It's a disgrace for the Roosevelt's to have to defend their grandfather's ideas and image from the Chimps BS!

As far as Fox! If they pulled the plug on them tomorrow I'd dance in the streets, but we all know that ain't never gonna happen under King George's reign.

20. Hume is dull and boring.
Don't worry about it. I doubt if anyone even understood what he said. :)
