http://rdu.news14.com/content/headlines/?ArID=63896&SecID=2Officials say a Special Forces captain died of a bacterial infection last week after he returned to Fort Bragg from a pre-deployment site survey overseas.
Captain Gilbert Munoz was a detachment commander assigned to Third Battalion, Seventh Special Forces Group. US Army Special Operations Command says Munoz died at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville of systemic organ failure.
Command spokesman Major Rob Gowan says Munoz recently went on a site survey to the US Central Command area of operations. Officials would not say specifically where Munoz went.
Munoz was admitted to Womack Army Medical Center on February 7th with flu-like symptoms and was transferred to Cape Fear Valley for dialysis treatment Wednesday, the day he died.
