Confusion Reigns Supreme
Government by chaos. Nobody knows what the hell is going on. Are we going to invade Iran? Russian is going to sell missiles to Syria? A major leader is assassinateed in Lebanon. Nobody knows what to do about the elections in Iraq - surely the winners cannot take control? On top of all that, the Israeli/Palestinian problems are boiling just under the surface.

On the homefront, our nation is going broke as the radical Repubs tear down our long-established government brick by brick. Close every loophole and give every dollar in the Treasury to the wealthiest people in the country so they can then trickle down on the rest of us. What party could think of that as a legitimate economic policy?

On top of all that, we have the White House paying off media and reporters to report their propaganda as the rest of the media lays down prostrated and totally helpless as what to do or what to report. Even a sex scandal in the White House is simply brushed aside as "partisan' politics. And meanwhile, they are in full force to destroy the Social Security System that has protected our elderly for the last 50 years. Confusion has led to helplessness and inaction. We are in dire straits, folks.

1. Choosing to see the bright side of things.........
I choose to see this more sunny view of the world..

Bush is making so many mistakes, he's pissed off the wrong people, we have a battle of the CIA and DOD that will eventually topple Bush's regime... My money is on the CIA folks...

We have Dean as head of the DNC , a pot full of money and a grassroots network and pocketbook the likes of which will make your head spin, we have Dean saying he will withold funds from Democrats that are not 'real democrat's = translate, the progressives have taken over the democratic party. (no more dixiecrats or Zellots)...

We have Boxer, with her single bold, courageous act, causing a ripple of hard to confirm candidates (Gonzales made it by one vote) and Bush struggling over Soc. Sec. passage, and budget passage, and we've created a moderate republican base that actually praises and works with the progressive democrats...

We have election reform progress with OH court battles introducing 1000 pages of election fraud into court and a 2nd recount soon underway. We have election fraud lawsuits commencing in GA, PA and WA, and finally, most importantly we have what, 70K DU activists that could seriously put a dent in anything they set their minds to.

The challenge is to just not get bothered by short term problems and remember the big picture.. we will take control again, but this time as a newer more organized democratic party. And as far as middle east, sorry to disappoint you but those folks fight for breakfast.. it's always been systemic violence with a difficult road to peace...., our biggest mistake was shedding American blood over agelong religious wars that will never be won or subside without serious middle east leadership which I do not the leaders forming.. the moderates have not yet emerged in that region.. we need a few more King Abdullahs there....... until then, peace will be ever elusive there, but the Middle East is one place in the world.... our likely invasion of Iran, Syria will be the straw that breaks the US citizen support for the war and start the 'get out of there' mentality that most joe sixpacks need but do not have at the moment... as for economic crisis... Dean reversed 70M worth of Republican debt in Vermont, he'll eventually be doing that (or helping a Dem. pres. do that) when we get a dem. re-elected.... think in terms of longterm, 20 year cycles not looking at today's events.. there has been huge progress... you just have to know which needle in the haystack to focus on...

good luck, I hope I have somehow done some cheering you up.. that was my goal anyway.....
