Gentle Persuasion for those who don't take boycotts too seriously
I want to point out a fact that of which you are well aware: The mainstream media, including most print media, will not cover the most important stories of the day, let alone promote any critical analysis of the news.

We have major unrest in Lebanon, Syria, and Iran, all surrounding the cluster fuck that is called Iraq. MSM response - Time to bomb Syria

We have a prostitute being controlled by the White House and being used as a media hit-man. - MSM response - Silence

We have a stolen election. - MSM response - Apathy

We have four attorneys in Ohio who are being destroyed by the Karl Rove, through Ken Blackwell and a republican hit-man in Ohio. These attorneys are being destroyed because they had the nerve to challenge the Ohio election in the court system. MSM response - Nothing, not even the papers in Ohio are reporting the story.

There are obviously dozens more cases.

Two months ago I reduced my monthly bill from Comcast cable from $120 to $30. I told them that I am a news consumer and they were not providing me the programming I need. Comcast pays CNN and the rest for the privilege to broadcast their signal. CNN also makes money from advertisers.

I sure miss some HBO shows and I will miss Bill Maher. But I cannot continue to pay CNN for what they provide.

We have to sacrifice our little creature comforts. They are not necessary to our lives. Please consider making these difficult decisions correctly. Our voice is only heard when we speak as one voice. Do not give these corporatists any more money than you have to. Make them irrelevant.

If you need more persuasion, consider that in this instance, if you drop cable services, it will also impact the advertising rates that CNN can earn, because there are fewer viewers.
