1. ugh, one of my friend's kids attends this place
she was quick to preface that it was not her college of choice for this child. Gee, I wonder why?

5. Why so many "Let's make fun of the squares" posts?
Is it shocking that Jerry Falwell's college has a dress code that looks like the kind of dress code all middle-aged dads think should be in the Constitution?

Though, oddly enough, not my dad. He might have been the only dad at my school who asked if I wanted to get my ears pierced. I asked him if Frank Sinatra had his ears pierced. He said no. Then I said, neither will I.

I was an odd kid.

6. It's not that they are "squares"
It's the fact that the people who make these rules -- Jerry Falwell, Pat Robertson, etc. -- are strongly influencing the current administration. An influence that mainstream Protestant denominations, or even *gasp* other religious leaders do not have.

7. I don't think Falwell and Robertson have any influence....
Dobson and Ralph Reed are another story all together.

But even so, I mean, I don't get why it's a shock that they have these rules. They're fundamentalists.

It's America; you have the right to be as freakin' crazy as you want to be.
